Going short-time only, shallow or succulent?
I am afraid you are going in too deep for some of the pious, sanctimonious, self-righteous prigs on here. Thailand does have it's special uniqueness -especially where relationships with ladies are concerned. Just by way of example............Tomorrow I will be taking a young lady on a 4 day break to one of the islands. Low season is a quiet time for her with her income at minimal - subsistance - levels. I will pay her for her company and ensure that she has a pleasant break. She will look after me and is exceedingly nice to me. On Sunday she will return to her room and I will return to my local residence. -

Several neighbouring countries compete with Thailand for foreign retirees
Your statement that every foreigner residing in Thailand longer than 180 days needs to pay tax is not correct. It depends what countrythe funds are coming from , how rhe money was earned and how the double taxation agreement is with the two countries as they are far from the same. The annoying part is that it seems that all foreigners residing in Thailand over 180 days will have to submit a tax return in my own situation but I will not have to pay tax in Thailand. -

The Tim Walz thread.
Stolen valor Walz caught lying again. Claimed he and his wife had their children using IDF, and that Vance wanted to ban it. Lie number one (which Walz's wife walked back) was that they used IDF Lie number two was that Vance wanted to ban it. All the left has are lies. -

What are you cooking today?
Don't think I've ever had. Not sure I'd like that. We always have a couple jars of pickles going, and some sauerkraut (not cooked). -

What do security guards actually do in Thailand?
1. Direct delivery riders to the drop off the point. 2. Ask delivery riders "everything" about the delivery. What's in the box.. What's in the Box? 3. Eyeball anything I'm carrying into the building. I plan to get a blow up and carry that in under my arm, my partner has pleaded with me not to do this.. but it's happening. 4. Amateur photography of everything, checklist number plates to confirm parking space usage 5. Saluting: They all salute even after telling them I'm not salute worthy. There is always one though that doesn't get up or acknowledge farangs.. he's my favorite. Yes, hate me, don't stand and salute at 2am in the morning when I'm sneaking to 7/11 to buy your horrible version of a kitkat.- 1

Registering car in wife’s name. Good idea?
I registered a new car (and other things) in my wife's name as she was 10 years younger than me and statistically should live longer than me. (45 and 55 years old at the time) Then dammit - she went and died on me 10 years later. No real hassle getting everything back but it took six months and a solicitor to manage the probate case. (No will - we were in the process of writing new ones.) Like you, I trusted me wife - she trusted me to do the right thing. Her dying was not in the plan. -

If you have a million dollars you will certainly attract lovely Serbian women, but why stop there, from Europe you have many nationalities with many choices, Belarus, Russian etc, I think the reason Europeans come to Thailand is because of the climate. -

Thai Parliament rings in complaint strategy with medieval twist
Looks like a very grand bell. I wonder how much it cost to make, and how much they paid for it. -

Pattaya review by stickman Aug 18, 2024
Why is anyone giving him any reading time? He admits to writing about Thailand when not actually in Thailand and this one looks like that as well. He probably watched a couple of youtube videos to get his content 😆 -

Registering car in wife’s name. Good idea?
I gave practical advice, he asked if it was a good idea, I said No, relationships can go sour even after many years. Why the OP bothered with his post is beyond me, he has already made up his mind to 'give' it to his wife, so whatever any members tell him, he will obviously ignore. Pointless OP. imo -
