giddyup
Bought this house new in 2010 and it came with aluminium windows and sliding doors, that aren't what I'd call quality. They rattle around a bit and the locks are a joke. Thinking of replacing the lot, around 10 windows and 2 sliding doors, with good quality PVC. Any idea of what the cost might be? unheard
@giddyup "Quality" (western standard) upvc windows will cost you an arm and leg, relative to the cost of other house components. That's the reason why just about every house here comes with cheap aluminum windows. There are quite a few companies around that you can ask for a rough quote, especially if you're in/around Pattaya. For example: https://europvc.co.th/ https://www.hevta.co.th/ https://www.tradeupvcwindows.com/ http://deku-upvc-windows-thailand.com/english/ The alternative would be the much cheaper Thai standard upvc windows, but those won't be that much different from your aluminum ones other than the frame material. AndyAndyAndy
You can buy windows/doors in Thai Watsadu/Global house/Home pro ... standard window (2 glass pieces) is about 2000 - 3000 baht. Big Window (4 glass pieces) is 5000 - 7000. Sliding double door (2 glass pieces) 7000- 10000 Baht. You will also need a few bags of cement (120 Baht/piece) a few bricks (6 Baht/piece). And installing one such a window/doors should go around 500 Bath.

Completely dependant on sizes of windows and whether you have single pane or double glazed with Argon gas, screens etc. Over the last 11 years I have had dealings with 3 UPVC companies. Most recent was best experience with ARC-CMR last year. I would however imagine prices have definitely risen. For reference - 600x685mm outward opening window with rolling insect screen (pull down from top), G.Laminated Clear 3mm+0.38 pvb.Frosted+3mm Clear / 10mm air gap / 5mm Clear glazed - about 8000 baht Sliding door (I had one side fixed) - 2601x2202mm, sliding insect screen but a clip on track (cheaper), multi point locking IG.Green 6mm / 10mm air gap / 5mm Clear - about 40,000 baht The about prices are because of fitting and extra material costs which were applied to the total. Very happy with the result. I did get prices at the time for single glazed as well which would have been cheaper. From memory Deku were a little cheaper but having used them in the past Arc appeared easier to work with and more professional. 1

I am currently seeking quotations from companies dealing in uPVC framed sliding windows and doors, and I agree with you... ARC is much easier to deal with than Deku, and they are quite happy to explain down to the tiniest detail what you want to know. I give them a big thumbsup 1
