Communism 19th century.

Socialism 18th Century.

You say there were multiple debates about abolishing the monarchy. How many resulted in "yes" to abolishing?

There may have been  minority of Republicans in Parliament but there certainly has not been a history of republicanism in UK.

I feel Charles I would disagree

Again more right-wing arrogance. Those who don't share my views should leave the country. A philosophy straight out of the Dark Ages.

It's perfectly possible to embrace and enhance the positive elements of our cultural heritage, while discarding the negative and/or outdated elements.

Good morning Raymond.....????

Apparently many Brits are not happy at Charles not having to pay inheritance tax.

Rather than make him pay it, abolish the tax. IMO it's an abomination that what people work their entire lives for is then taxed by a grasping government if they want to pass it on to their children.

However, I'm all for a 95% capital gains tax on house sales to stop the price rise insanity, which is making buying and renting unaffordable for many, as I'm seeing every day now.

I’ve never known anyone who had their life destroyed or wasted by inheritance tax.

I’ve known dozens who had their lives, and families destroyed by or wasted their lives waiting for inheritance.

The adage ‘rags to riches to rags in three generations’ comes about exactly because one generation works hard and builds a fortune and the next generation waste it.

Families ripping themselves apart over inheritance, long married couples divorcing when an inheritance is in the offing, kids wasting their lives because why study and work, an inheritance is coming.

I’ve seen it happen dozens of times.

I can think of no better way to cripple your kids than promise them an inheritance, no better way to rip your own family apart than leave them an estate to argue over.

I agree with you on capital gains tax for property gains.

It's not about the tax or him paying, it really is about the feelings towards the monarchy. So indirectly it is about him not paying, it simply doesn't help their image.

I'm actually puzzled as to what he would have to pay inheritance tax on exactly? Can't be on his own property given he isn't inheriting any of that, and he doesn't now own the palaces that belong to the crown ( the state ).

Oh, but I have countered but it is difficult to get across when some suffer from reading difficulties and can only see the bits they want to see and change their own comments like the wind.

But not so happy when other people have different opinions to yours.

You have to love these Poundland patriots who love Britain so much that they choose to live in Thailand.

Why are you living in Thailand then?

Several of the estates he has inherit are private property, not crown estates.

Irrelevant to the question I answered.

And Prince William isn’t a King: there’s a clue in his title.

Prince William will be King, all stuff is handed down, handed over..

Isn't it great, just think yourself lucky that if things were different we would probably have a "Putin" using our heritage.....????

LONG LIVE THE KING, and future Kings.......????

So I was right, he’s a Prince and one day he may be King (nothing is certain in life).

And he inherited private estates that are not ‘crown estates property’.
