Visa (VOA) stamp after Oct 1st

Anyone clarify - how long is given on arrival by air from Oct 1st on? I read somewhere that it was 60 days. Flying in from Bali, not my home country.

it's changed on Oct 1 for VOA from 15 days to 30 days for the countries in that category. The Visa Exempt entry changes from 30 days to 45 days

Yeah, we really need to know what passport you travel on, you could get from zero to 60 days.

If a visa on arrival, you now receive 30 days which, as before, cannot be extended.

 

If a visa exemption based on bilateral agreement, there is no change.

 

If a standard visa exemption, you now receive 45 days on entry, which (as before) can be extended one time for 30 days at Immigration.

 

If you do not know which category you fall into, this Wikipedia article will be helpful. Just search it for your country, and read the rules that apply. The article has not yet been updated to reflect the changes to the number of days that took effect today, but is otherwise generally accurate.

To my knowledge there is no 60 days permission for any national arriving visa exempt.

Ordinary tourist >visa< allowed 60 days.

Any stories of those who entered Thailand on or after October 1?  My concern is that IO doesn't recognize my outbound flight scheduled 44-45 days after arrival.

Immigration normally does not ask for a ticket out and they will know about the change to 45 days.

I would worry more about the airline not knowing about it.

The io will not be interested with onward flight.

The airline at departure may wish to see onward flight.

Why should immigration not know their own rule?

Just make sure that it is 45 days incl day of arrival and departure.

 

And as ubonjoe writes: be more concerned about unknowing airline.

I just did an example:

London - Bangkok, UK passport, no visa

Depart Oct 7th, arrive Oct 8th

Depart Nov 20th (21st would be the maximum if arrival date is considered).

"You are clear to board this flight".
