Mae sai - takilek border (sep 2022)

Featured Replies

When visiting Mae sai, is it again possible to obtain a day-pass to visit Takilek (Burmese town opposite Mae sai) ?

I saw that to go to Myanmar (with visa),  the Myanmar authorities require a max 48 hours old covid test + test at arrival, is it the case too to go to Takilek from Mae sai (no visa , just day pass), or a vaccination certificate is sufficient?

Thanks for any current info, in order to schedule a visit there (or not) in the coming months.

AFAIK, the border is closed for foreigners, no day passes issued (according to someone who lives in Mae Sai).

Thanks for the info. I guess I will have to wait a few more months then ...
