Vietnam calls for end to conflict in Ukraine

Vietnamese ambassador to the UN called for an end to conflict and the restoration of peace regarding recent developments in Ukraine.

 

At an emergency session of the U.N. General Assembly on Wednesday, Vietnamese ambassador Dang Hoang Giang affirmed that Vietnam closely follows and is especially concerned about recent developments in Ukraine, according to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

 

All parties need to abide by the U.N. Charter and basic principles of international law, not intervene in internal affairs and not using threat of force in international relations, Giang said. Parties need to resolve conflicts in accordance with international law, especially the principle of respecting countries' independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity, he said.
