Faithful turn to termite mounds for lottery riches - draw tomorrow

Siam Rath reported that superstitious villagers in the Ban Chan sub-district of Udon Thani in the NE of Thailand were pinning their lottery hopes on a couple of termite mounds at a temple.

 

They were sure that the face of a hermit could be seen in one and another was in the unmistakeable shape of the King of the Nagas.

 

They were busy lighting joss-sticks and saying prayers at the temple of Ban Dong Bat.

The mounds have been near the monks' quarters since the pandemic but have not changed in size. 

 

The number 350 was divined for the draw that will take place tomorrow, October 16th.
