Its the normal behaviour when firing people .

Otherwise the people may do some serious damage

If they wanted to do serious damage they would already have done so. Unless you think the take over and getting the boot came as a surprise to them?

It was their firing from their jobs , rather then the actual take-over .

Like , when people get fired from sensitive jobs , where they could cause serious damage , they are required to leave the premises immediately .

My guess it was just wrong choice of word "escorted".

It's standard protocol at big companies. You aren't manhandled or frogmarched or something like that. Just burly security guys coming into your office and politely asking you to follow them out.

I do feel a connection between the take over and the firing.

You really think either came as a surprise to them?

Yes, they were connected and it probably didn't come as a surprise , but employees aren't going to cause any damage whilst they are still employed .

When they get fired, they get removed from the building before they can cause any sabotage

And that sabotage they couldn't do the day before.

They knew long ago their heads would roll. Musk had been feuding with Agrawal for a while and had publicly scolded their censor czar what's-her-name for bias.

Can't wait for President Trump to be invited back on to the new non-partisan @Twitter; and if liberals have a problem with free speech on Ver.2.0 of the platform, they can go start their own social media network (I hear Parler is for sale) ????????????

As the saying goes...a fish rots from the head first; good on Elon for lancing the wound on his first day in the corner suite.

He literally carried in a sink,To let it sink in., lol

He should also have brought a broom to signify a clean sweep of the upper elite positions in the company!

Google and other non conservative  organizations will scoop them up in a heart beat imop

It was a nice gig while it lasted...but with 11 billion in additional debt on its books and billions in interests payments annually, I don't think the new private owners will put up with this much longer...

I dont tweet but I have seen  in recent years through news reports what they as a social media platform have done to many!

Sad !

But hey things are looking good finally for the ones who support freedom of opinions, without fear of reprisals from the censorship minions!

She was partially responsible for Tump being banned and also responsible for stories about Bidens son being banned from being spoken about just before the last election

Gadde was Twitter's top lawyer and general counsel and the reports are that she personally was the one who made the decision to permanently ban a president of the United States from this social media platform. (While the Twitter account of the President of Iran, as an example, is still allowed.)

When he tweeted that vid he literally said. “Entering twitter hq let that sink in”.

His very next tweet was “meeting a lot of cool people at twitter today”

in addition he denied reports of intentions to sack 75% of staff.

as for free speech, that depends it may have consequences as he also tweeted below.

There is something seriously wrong when one person can control rockets, satellites, cars and one of the biggest social media platforms.  It's simply not right.
