Crime Man Arrested After Road Rage Stabbing in Thaphra Tunnel
Picture courtesy of Matichon. Police have arrested a 29-year-old man in connection with a violent road rage incident that occurred in the Thaphra tunnel area of Bangkok. The suspect allegedly stabbed a fellow motorcyclist following a heated altercation sparked by honking and offensive gestures. The suspect, identified as Mr Thanawat, was apprehended by officers from Thaphra Police Station at approximately 14:00 on 6 June. He was wanted under a warrant issued by the Taling Chan Criminal Court (No. จ.406/2568) on charges of causing bodily harm. The incident took place on the evening of 4 June near a convenience store on Charansanitwong Soi 3 in Bangkok Yai district. The victim, Mr Dominic Poltat, suffered a deep wound to the back of his right shoulder after being slashed with a box cutter. He was taken to Siriraj Hospital for emergency treatment. According to the investigation, both the victim and the suspect were riding motorcycles from Sukhumvit Road toward the Rama III Bridge. The pair nearly collided while crossing the bridge, leading to a confrontation involving blaring horns, shouted insults and offensive hand gestures. The altercation escalated as they continued to the Ratchada-Thaphra Road. As they entered the Thaphra underpass, the suspect allegedly pulled up alongside the victim’s motorcycle and used a box cutter to slash him before speeding off. Thaphra police investigators reviewed CCTV footage and gathered witness statements, which helped identify the suspect as Mr Thanawat. He was also confirmed to be the registered owner of the grey Honda motorcycle with Bangkok plates used in the attack. Upon arrest, Mr Thanawat confessed to the assault, citing provocation. He claimed he lost control of his temper after the victim repeatedly honked at him, shouted abuse and gave him the middle finger. Officers recovered the box cutter used in the attack, along with the motorcycle and the clothing worn during the incident. Mr Thanawat has been charged with assault causing bodily harm and is in police custody pending legal proceedings. Adapted by Asean Now from Matichon 2025-06-08 -

Reliable Customs Broker
Importing virginia tobacco into Thailand can be tricky due to strict regulations, so it's wise to look for a customs consultant with specific experience in tobacco imports. I understand your frustration—many companies aren't responsive or knowledgeable enough. You might want to try firms like Bolloré Logistics or Kuehne+Nagel, which have established operations in Thailand and often handle sensitive or regulated products. Another option is to contact local customs brokers near major ports like Laem Chabang or Bangkok, and specifically ask if they've dealt with tobacco before. A reliable customs consultant should be able to guide you through the permits, duties, and excise tax requirements.
