Quesion For Small Business Owner(s)

Recommended Posts

I know many farangs here own small businesses such as mini-mart, laundry, salons, etc. From my understanding if you form a real company you would need to employ several Thai employees, and have a large capital investment (2 mill or more?). Most of these small business could not carry 4 employees and be profitable and I don't believe a large capital investment has been made or at least not as large as is required.

My question is how can you go about starting up a small business with approximately 1 mill baht or less and with 1 employee?? And what kind of visa is required?

If you are under 50 you will need to be married & have a Non Imm O Visa.

Then ASFAIK, you can start a business with 1mil Baht capital & are not subject to certain numbers of employees for your work permit.

Sun Belt (forum sponsor) would be able to answer your question more clearly if you provide some more personal information.

Cheers,

Soundman.

Work permit is dependant upon having 4 Thai employees and company registered capital at 2 million baht for each work permit needed, however only 25% of this capital needs to be paid in at incorporation.

People have been getting around the 4 employees by just paying the monthly income tax of 4 fake employees on lowest salary level.

The government have now taken steps to stop this happening.
