Royal Australian Mint to release ‘collectors edition’ $2 coin

Australian coin collectors face a restless night on Wednesday, as the national mint prepares to release what has been described as the most anticipated coin of the year on Thursday morning.

The release, which will be capped at 60,000 coins, comes after the death of the Queen Elizabeth II saw the value of the 2012 edition of the $2 red poppy coin soar to as much as $400.
