Brother printer blocked colour?

Recommended Posts

My 5 year old Brother printer will not print yellow properly. Local computer repair shop (which is not a printer specialist) did a complete clean without result and suggests a repair will cost 3 to 4 k baht which is more than I paid for it.

Can any member suggest a reliable printer repair specialist in the Chiang mai area who may be able to fix it?

Brother Service Centre is inside the moat near the corner where Mahidol joins at the 3 elephant statues. Google it for details. They open at 08:30.

If it is too much, the simple choice is to buy a new printer--HP DeskJet 2300 All-in-One  prints, scans, copies, as most do these days--must say, i looked at Siam TV and they wanted over 3000 baht for this printer--got it at IT city for 1700.  As most already know, printers are cheap--they get you on replacement ink cartridges.

Does anyone still buy printers that need replaceable ink cartridges? Most printers I've seen being sold here in Chiang Mai have either internal or external bulk tanks.  I print every day, only add new ink once or twice a year from bulk bottles that cost relatively nothing, even when compared with a single cartridge.

I have exactly that Canon printer but do not print every day only 1/2 times per month. The problem is the ink/ink tubes clog up and their nozzle cleaning/deep cleaning does NOT clear the blockage.

Time for me to buy a Laser jet printer.

Just had our canon done on  Panthip plaza. turn right off  1st escalator. Bon DD. Ours had also dried up and we bought a used but look new Canon copier scanner printer from Bon for 1500 baht. Less than the repair cost of the old one as the heads had gone -750 each to replace. Very pleased with the new achine. And I must remember to do an all colour print once a week to stop it drying out!

Yes, my experience also, so that is why i stayed away from them--I don't print all that often, so am not replacing cartridges frequently--but, if printed regularly, might look for something like the laser jet.
