Popular Post webfact Posted November 21, 2022 Popular Post Posted November 21, 2022 Daily News Thai Caption: The Japanese are perplexed! Daily News reported that comment was rife online between Japanese and Thai Twitter users after a teacher tweeted about Thai kids not eating much veg. It was suggested that parents in Thailand don't educate their children about the goodness in vegetables. In fact they let them do as they please, unlike the rearing of Japanese children. The Japanese wondered why Thais weren't constipated all the time. Though it was noted that most Thais have great figures and some of the loveliest fruit on the planet. Maybe they get their veggies in smoothies, some netizens posted. Thais meanwhile responded mostly that the way veg is cooked in Thailand is not as delicious as the way it's done in Japan. Others said their get their five a day from eating SomTam (Papaya Salad a ubiquitous food in Thailand). It all seemed like good natured viral ribaldry, notes ASEAN NOW. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2022-11-21 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. Popular Post Hellfire Posted November 21, 2022 Popular Post Posted November 21, 2022 Is hot pepper a veg? If yes, then Thais eat more vegs than anybody else on the planet. 3 1
HuskerDo2 Posted November 21, 2022 Posted November 21, 2022 "The Japanese wondered why Thais weren't constipated all the time" Really!?!? Do Japanese people need a hobby? Why would such a thought pass thru one's mind?
HuskerDo2 Posted November 21, 2022 Posted November 21, 2022 "Though it was noted that most Thais have great figures and some of the loveliest fruit on the planet." How could anyone disagree with that statement? "Loveliest fruit"...... translation - a bodacious set of ta-ta's. 1
Popular Post ikke1959 Posted November 21, 2022 Popular Post Posted November 21, 2022 Kids should eat everything or at least try to taste. They have indeed to be educated by their parents. Let them to do as they like will only make uncontrolled kids.. 3
Popular Post 300sd Posted November 21, 2022 Popular Post Posted November 21, 2022 Who is going to educate the parents? 3 1 2
kotsak Posted November 21, 2022 Posted November 21, 2022 Rights, if only the parents educated their kids about anything else..

IvorBiggun2 Posted November 21, 2022 Posted November 21, 2022 Like most kids my 3 don't like eating vegetables. Comes with time. In place of the vegetable loss I make sure they always eat fruit as an after instead. The choice is then there as to their preference. One or the other in our house.
Sparktrader Posted November 21, 2022 Posted November 21, 2022 Veges arent much good for you. You can live just fine without them. Carnivore diet gives you the runs. Beef, oysters and eggs contain all the nutrients you need and far more than any veges. Dont people read anymore? 2

Why would such a thought pass thru one's mind? Constipation is always on peoples' collective minds in Japan. Lots of medicine for it advertised on TV, cures, etc. Having a starchy diet with white rice is part of the problem, plus as people age here they get less fibre. Also, whole wheats and grains are not as popular as they should be. As for kids, I am not sure the situation in Thailand, but in Japan all kids eat a prepared school lunch until they are in high school. There is no choice of menu, everyone (even the teacher) gets the same food and should be prepared to finish it. It is a way to prevent kids from being too picky, to introduce new foods, and to promote locally grown produce/meats/fruit. Brown bagging or going home for lunch is not an option.

Steak, fish, oysters, onions, mushrooms, eggs, almonds, berries, bananas, coffee, fermented milk or yoghurt, salt and water is just about the perfect diet for nutrition and weight control. Complete myth you need lots of veges. 1

Purdey Posted November 21, 2022 Posted November 21, 2022 The Japanese are always amazed that Asians don't do the same as them. One Japanese chap told me seriously that Japan is not in Asia. 1
Lacessit Posted November 21, 2022 Posted November 21, 2022 Most Thais I know load up their meals with enough chili to make any Westerner's eyes water. Chili is a laxative, as it irritates the stomach and intestinal tract. The most common constituent of Thai meals is rice, at least in the village I live in occasionally. Protein usually comes from eggs, frogs and rats. Rice binds up the digestive tract, the chili is there to get it moving. It is also useful as a bactericide. 1

AgMech Cowboy Posted November 21, 2022 Posted November 21, 2022 My son would not eat vegetables nor spicy foods. He's 20 now. We didn't have to give him enemas or laxatives. He wouldn't even eat fried potatoes. He didn't eat sweets or drink sodas (sugary or sugar free). Was he a 'stick'? No, fat from it, but not a fatty either. He really liked noodles... Still does, but eats a lot of pork and beef.
kidneyw Posted November 21, 2022 Posted November 21, 2022 Gave up reading through all the comments. Just force feed the little Shih tzus, like geese and foie gras and be done. In 40 years time they will love you again.
