For someone who supports Sturgeon, you don't seem to spend much time listening to her. If you did, you would know why.

Being Australian, I must confess to not spending much time at all listening to Sturgeon or any UK polly. That doesn't prevent me from taking an interest in European politics and doesn't absolve you from needing to provide a link to support your claims.

You guys will be rich beyond belief!????

Not rich. Just free of all the whining from our neighbours.

Nope.

“Baby boomers, often shortened to boomers, are the demographic cohort  following the Silent Generation and preceding Generation X. The generation is often defined as people born from 1946 to 1964,“

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baby_boomers

Now how about you get back in topic.

Ok, so what about the old saying "born a socialist die a tory"!

In my opinion, most people do become more conservative (small 'c') as they age and you are in a minority who don't.

Similarly, many who are pro independence today will be pro union in 30 year's time.

To be honest, most countries that want to be independent have to fight for it, often on the streets.  Sometimes, there are also unintended consequences, such as civil wars where the country actually splits in two- that could happen here as large swathes of Scotland and the islands can be fiercely unionist.

Opinion is just that, opinion.

You cannot say for certainty how people will feel about their present thoughts on independence from the English in the future based on opinion.

 You can speculate, that’s all.

And by no means do all change their views as they age. I am proof of that.

As for your view I am in the minority…again opinion only.

Scotland won't be able to join the EU until at least 10 years after independence, if at all.

Making my point about the 2014 vote for me.  Thank you.  But being able to apply to rejoin (if they wish) would at least be an option for an independent Scotland.

I thought that Scotland wanted to be independent , why would Scotland want to join the E,U if it wanted independence?

Because all countries within the eu are independent countries.

Every council in Scotland had the majority vote for remaining in the EU!!! So there you have it! You guys just don't want to let go because it's the last remaining piece of your once oh-so-impressive and now crumbed empire.

1. The Empire was British, not English.

2. Out of the 3,987,112 people in Scotland who were eligible to vote in the EU ref, only 1,661,191 voted to remain in the EU.   The reason Scotland is no longer in the EU is because not enough Scots wanted to vote to remain in the EU.

3.  You had your chance to leave the UK.   Your fellow Scots wanted to stay.   Don't be like Trump, take the loss like a grown up.

The talks will come after independence has been won.

You mean to say " talks will start when (if) the YES independence vote has won"

That would be correct as, if talks breakdown or an agreement can't be reached, independence will be on hold.

Catelonia?

A region of Spain, albeit an unwilling one for a significant number of Catalonians.

Having lived in Kirkcudbright for a number of years in the past I wouldn't give them the time of day. They think they're hard done by by the English for stealing their oil. I'm sure they think they'd all be millionaires if it wasn't for us.

If I had made a similar point but with the roles reversed I would, quite rightly, be called anti English. You are genuinely anti Scottish.

The problem with the UK in general and England in particular is that we don't really produce anything that the rest of the world wants. The UK has become a rentier economy - not a good place to be when the world is in recession.

I would love to know where Scotland will get the money to use to become prosperous with so much surplus income they can support other countries.

The Scots make whisky, the English and other countries drink it.

So, I guess you pulled that out of a damp and dark place. Quelle surprise!

Not at all. I like to educate myself on certain matters with research. I prefer not to have to rely on someone posting a link to one article. That would be futile.

what about the north sea oil... it's on Scotland waters, the below article didn't mention the UK but did mention Scotland

The Scottish Government should take a stand on the future of oil and gas

You could at least try to be grammatically correct before having the temerity to criticise others for spelling mistakes.

What a lame answer. You've made an unsubstantiated claim that you can't back up in any way so I'm calling BS on it.

You can call it what you like. It doesn't bother me nor does it affect what I learned from what I read.

The oil belongs to the Shetland islands , would Scotland allow independence for the Shetland Islands ?
