Without our smartphones, where would we be in 2025?
This is a photo of me (on the left) and one of my software engineers, as we worked on the design of software for one of the first smartphones for Ericcsson. I was the CTO for the company who designed the operating software for some of the first mobile websites. Amazing how mobile devices have progressed in just a few decades. -

Report Thai Police Launch Helmet Crackdown to Boost Road Safety
When I drop my son off at school there's thousands on bikes with babies as well, and no helmets. Police often controlling the traffic, nothing ever done, can you put helmets on babies? Up to 4 on a bike, no helmet. We all know this and we all know it's impossible to enforce. Just another tea money exercise. These bikes with kid's and no helmets terrify me when driving. Without bikes to transport Thai people there would be more chaos if they used cars and they probably can't afford them. Falungs ignore helmets as well, falung beware from Sunday -

Economy Thailand Faces Economic Slowdown Amid Weak Consumer Spending and Industry Struggles
The Baht is just too strong. If they want more income from tourists and retirees here then get the baht to a reasonable level. I want to purchase a car, but not about to send money over at the current rate. They need to use their heads and some common sense. -

What's the dullest place in Thailand?
Krabi when it’s rainy season, drive 5 hours from Satun so we could do a tour to Similan Islands & trip was cancelled because of the weather, spent 4 days in the hotel just waiting for the flight back (I’d have bailed but she won’t leave an already paid for hotel). Great if you want to eat Indian food for breakfast, lunch & dinner, not so great if you like Thai food & especially Pork (much more Muslim oriented than when I visited 17 years ago). Won’t be back.
