Never noticed/heard before.

Not in the calendar here:

https://aseannow.com/topic/1243044-thai-holidays-2022/

or any other that I know.

So as others wrote, closed on:

Mon, Dec 12th (tomorrow)

Fri,    Dec 30th (Sat 31st/Sun 1st following)

Mon, Jan 2nd

But you can go on Christmas and bring presents

King Taksin Day

The Cabinet has also declared 28 December the eastern region’s 2021 regional holiday, celebrating King Taksin Day. This holiday will be observed in 8 eastern provinces, namely Chachoengsao, Chon Buri, Rayong, Chanthaburi, Trat, Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, and Sa Kaeo.

.

.

My understanding is this is only for the usual suspects - government, banks, schools.

Helpfully the immigration website states: "Closed on holidays"

See the calendar on the right side of the page when the immigration office will be closed.

Contact Us – Immigration Division1 | กองบังคับการตรวจคนเข้าเมือง 1

This link should be included with the yearly holiday calendar that is posted here by mods.

Hope they will for 2023.

Division 1 is only for Bangkok not much use for anywhere else.

You think if immigration division 1 will be closed, the other division immigration offices might be open on a holiday.

With very rare exceptions (like the mentioned "King Taksin" holiday in eastern Thailand) office holidays are identical over the country. And the calendar can be found/linked on other immigration sites (identical).

Please note that:

1. Thai employees got very little holidays from their employers

2. Most developed countries in Europe offer much more holidays than Thailand (France: 5 weeks + "RTT", Germany: 24 days, Italy: 4 weeks, Spain: 30 days, UK: 25 days, etc.) and in some cases "Bank Holidays" come as a bonus...

Those are samples of vacation time.
Thailand has a lot of holidays and they have three New Years.  In my country new years is just one extra day off. Thais get 2 or 3! Plus Songkran and many do Chinese New Year. Just seem like they keep coming

Well, that was certainly the case during the recent APEC summit!

This occasion was very well documented before, as per your attached topic and in most newspapers.

Yep, documented a whole week in advance, according to my attached topic.  And only to those with Twitter accounts, it would seem. Not what I would personally call "very well documented".
