Violence against foreigners and violence by and against locals/other asians are very different. I'd walk the streets of Thailand day or night without worry, not so the UK, especially London.

Agree.Β  From what I read a out foreigners getting attacked here I. Thailand it seems the vast number of cases is down to the influence of drugs or alcohol and usually late at night in a bar area and the foreigner is acring aggressive and starting the altercation from their behaviour.Β Β

Β

I have lived here nearly 20 years and socialise mostly with Thai locals and never encounter a problem.Β  However in the UK I have been in bad situations many times die to drink idiots getting aggressive and looking for a fight.Β  Also muggings and knife crime are far far more common I the UK than here.Β

Overall it seems violent crime rates are not higher in UK.

The numbers you show are correct for the charts.Β  However, those charts are from 2002.Β  Twenty year old charts don't reflect present day, especially for America.

Thank you for pointing that out but I seriously doubt they'll have changed even in 20 years.

Ha!.....My 'Thai cousins' have just returned from Cambodia......none of them have a passport.

Β

I asked the wife how do they cross country to country?......She explained they work for the Chinese who send a photo of each of them to the border guards along with a description of the clothes they will be wearing (plus a wodge of cash).....job done.
