With the amount of guns per capita here...

With the amount of Yabba heads riding around etc...  its not far fetched to suspect this could be something as simple as wrong place wrong time, looking at the wrong person, even overtaking the wrong person on the bike...

... This could have been something incredibly random... Or one or or a combination of a multitude of many other reasons....  gang initiation to a hired hit... etc...

This must be horrific for his loved ones.

Yes, but some reports from the Police suggest road rage, or a love triangle issue have not been dismissed;  we just don't know and neither do the police.  What we apparently do know is that he was drinking with mates from 4pm and this was a few hours later and he was riding his scooter.  Maybe he was just drinking diet cokes all evening, but let's not speculate at this stage.

Really doesn't sound like a pre-planned "hit". Who would be lying in wait

for the victim if he stopped off randomly somewhere to buy a few

groceries?

Hits are more likely to be front on, on a pedestrian target, and not

shooting at someone riding away down a soi. Even with three shots,

the shooter cannot be certain of having made a "kill".

Given the place of the killing, it seems to me that the girlfriend's

involvement can be ruled out.

It appears more likely to be a road-rage "revenge" shooting, or

resulting from an argument in, or close to, the store where the

goods were bought. More questioning of the shop-keeper is

called for, and which, no doubt, the cops are busy with.

In my view, a long-shot (no pun intended), is that this is a hit

ordered from England, and that Mr Roger(s) was followed

by the perpetrator. There is no evidence for this, of course,

and there may never be, and the thought may be extreme.

We are all just putting our best theories forward.

can you not read, you obviously have no clue - like I said in my post - who benefits financially from his death - it's called motive and in Thailand when farangs are murdered it is almost always a financial motive - someone gains alot of money and thinks they will get away with it - cash that nobody knows about (not banked)

Do you know the victim personally? Was he in the habit of bringing large sums of money back to Thailand?

If your answer is no then it is you that has no clue.

I cannot think of any expat that I know  who would wander around with 20,000 quid in his pocket.

It seems that he was not robbed and if, according to your ridiculous theory the money was at his home it would be easier to follow him home, kill them both and then steal the money.

That theory has as much validity as yours, but I know it is a load of rubbish as I was the one that wrote it.

I have only just joined this conversation and you are quite correct....such pointless and cruel speculation....and how do I know....because Neil was my best mate here in Thailand.....I have had the pleasure of knowing this gentleman for nearly 15 years and as nice a fellow as anyone could wish to meet.....I am the "Peter" mentioned but there was no arrangement to meet last night.....we meet up on Fridays....he didn`t smoke/do drugs or ANYTHING underhand....he was just a very nice human being and a pleasure to have known him.

The latest information I have is the police suspect a road rage incident.

R.I.P. Neil gone but never forgotten.

So sad.  Sorry for your loss.  ????

it is all just a round about way of saying his woman did it.

As for the 20k, im pretty sure we all know where he pulled that from.

Well, this wasn't a very cunning plan. This is the most obvious of one of these cases I have ever seen.

Sleeping in his room. He happens to work as a security guard at a hotel. He was sleeping in his room at the time. Is that not allowed?

Was merely correcting a previous pedantic post regarding the wording in the link .Don't believe I commented on his sleeping habits. Is that not admissible ? ????
