Can a Philipine apple for a Schengen Visa for Thailand?

Featured Replies

My girlfriend will be shortly come to visit me in Thailand.

If we would decide to make a trip to my home country, does she need to first fly back to the Philipines to ask for a Schengen Visa or can she apply for a Schengen Visa in Thailand?

To clarify, my girlfriend has her residency at the Philippines.

8 years ago I invited my then PH gf to travel with me to Germany. She had to return to the Philippines to apply for a Schengen visa at the German embassy in Makati.

The embassy in Silom (via VFS) will only entertain applications from non-Thais who have the following:

- Original and copy of work permit (if applicable)
- Re-entry stamp from Thai Immigration, valid after coming back from the Schengen states

- if the trip is sponsored: sponsoring letter and bank statement of the sponsor for the last three months including bank account movements of the sponsor, original with bank stamp, copy of sponsor's passport.

- Evidence proving she will return to the Philippines (or Thailand).

Your gf will need to apply in the Philippines. If you will sponsor her travel to Europe, be sure to give her the required sponsorship documents.

If she gets the visa, be sure she's well prepared for the trip. Philippine immigration will "grill" her thoroughly about her travel intentions and especially about her relationship with you. Pics together will help. Emails, chats and other communication (and all that love ya, good night sweety pie, miss ya loads, dying to be with you soon, itching to cuddle with you soon etc etc) can all help convince PH immigration to let her board that flight.

Why are they like gestapo?

I've noticed it is crazy for them to even visit Scandinavia......

For me, the hardest was when I visit china, but there was no interview in ANOTHER country embassy, there was no interview, I had to answer questions, why I was visiting and how long and where I stay....sent it in to China embassy, got papers back 15 days later and then I could fly....that was the HARDEST....but that was a cakewalk for what philippine citizens must go through just to take a vacation ????
