Thai PM on top form gives youngsters a rallying cry - but is that for the "old soldier" too?

Thai prime minister Prayuth Chan-ocha was at his paternalistic best as he received teachers and students of note at a ceremony yesterday.

In a sterling rallying cry to those present he referred to the "new guard" and the new future.

This seemed to have as much to do with "Lung Too" as the children he was haranguing.

He reminded youth about the importance of tech in the modern world, reported Thai Rath.

His sage advice continued with an observation that young people must be ready, ready for change.

They must expect both good and bad things to happen, he intoned profoundly.

Then he got down with the crowd and had plenty of selfies taken.

It was thumbs up for Prayuth who will have hoped that some of that youth had rubbed off on the old soldier.

Mao had a "Red Guard." (There is a photography of Thai university students cosplaying as Red Guards. I can't show it because it's from Khaosod.)

A new future where Thailand becomes more isolated due to its poor educational system espically in English language were they continue to fall further and further behind other countries

Cha Cha, your insincerity is an astonishing thing to witness. You have spent 8 long years oppressing the youth. You have done nothing to improve their lot in life. Ever. Please. Nobody is buying your nonsense.

But.....no one really has to buy into the usual nonsense.

It's all rather moot.

Come March he'll be in like flint - it's already been arranged.
