Thai Rath reported on a gruesome stabbing incident outside a house in Kanchanaburi, western Thailand on Saturday night.

Phanom Thuan police lieutenant Thiti Nokjan went with other senior officers after a report came in of the fatal stabbing.

It happened on the Ban Noi Road Soi 3 in Don Chedi sub-district.

Phayung Sermsuk, 50, dressed in purple pyjamas with flowers was lying face up in a pool of blood by a water collection jar.

She had three stab wounds to the left side of her chest, two to her left leg, and one each on her right thigh and both upper arms.

People at the scene said that the assailant was her new husband Ramphan "Thin" Chaonatri, 41, from Bo Ploi.

They had been together a little over a year.

The victim's son from a previous relationship and neighbors had chased the assailant and found him in bushes at the King Naresuan the Great Monument nearby.

Police took him into custody.

He said that they had argued at their home nearby the scene of the crime and she had gone to a relative's house.

Enraged he picked up a kitchen knife and went after her. Further arguments ensued at the second location where the stabbing occurred.

Following this, and fearing attack from her son and others, he fled and threw the knife in a klong.

This weapon - 30 cms long - was found later encrusted with blood by a krathin tree in a dried up klong.

It is being tested for fingerprints and DNA to inform the investigation.

Good for the son catching the guy.  And I commend the neighbors for getting involved also.
iIm surprised when the son and neighbors made the “ citizens arrest “. They didn’t make a little well deserved “ street justice “ before the police took the guy into custody.

This man should either get the death penalty, or at least jail for life with no remission.

Rest in peace.

it's just terrible.
