Gary Glitter had the misfortune to be born as a national of the UK, had he been born Australian he would have been treated much more leniently. The infamous "Lux", aka Mathew Arnold Graham, who propagated "Hurtcore", ie much more extreme child pornography where the children were physically harmed and also killed, received a paltry 15 years in jail, with parole after 10 and is now eligible for parole. How Australia saw fit to give Matthew Arnold Graham a mere 15 years is anyone's guess. Fellow Australian Peter Scully was also fortunate to be tried in Philippines, where there is no death penalty, I suspect the US would have dealt with him much harsher.
