Thai Raht reported that the Na Jomtien police in the Pattaya area responded with rescue services to the scene of a motorcycle collision with a lamppost.

It happened in Moo 2 beside the railway tracks behind a housing estate.

Dead at the scene with a broken right leg was the driver of a Honda Click, 53 year old Chalee Suphap from Trat.

The pillion passenger, Thonglor, 56, his wife who hails from Chanthaburi, had a fractured skull and was taken to hospital.

A bottle of lao khao or Thai white spirits was found at the scene.

Witnesses in the area reported seeing the couple arguing while drinking the spirit before leaving on a motorcycle.

Na Jomtien police are investigating further.
