OOPS.........offended someone did I. Tough doo doo, so for those few:..."Arabs in France are those parts of the Arab diaspora who have immigrated to France, as well as their descendants. Subgroups include Algerians in France, Moroccans in France, Mauritanians in France, Tunisians in France and Refugees of the Syrian Civil War.

Whatever they are called, many are still R-soles.

I will add a rider to my previous post about using the term "French Arabs", because I never really gave it any thought and during my time working in North Africa some 50 years ago, terms like this were the norm and rightly or wrongly I have always used that term to describe them.

In addition you only have to travel round certain towns and cities in France to hear what the locals call this group of people, something entirely different, and it is not complimentary in the slightest.

Apologies to those whom I offended through my lack of thought.

In todays politically correct and woke world we are not allowed use our experiences to influence our judgements....  we’d be accused of bias and in such examples here, racism.

When I was in France I was warned not to go into certain area’s of town.... because of the ‘Arabs’... I was young and didn’t give it much thought. In the UK, in certain towns I also avoided certain area’s for my own safety, to avoid the Pakistani’s.....     I never gave that much thought either.

In hindsight both comments could be construed has containing racial bias...  and that wouldn’t be wrong.

Are these area’s of town simply just youths who are bored and will commit violence for fun and race has nothing to do with it? or is the racial bias deserved ???

To be honest, I don’t care.....  IF I’m in a town or city and there is an area to be avoided for whatever reason....  I’ll avoid it.

One thing I do notice though - I’ve worked in many countries whose nationals have a poor reputation in my home country and towns across Europe, yet I’ve had wonderful experiences, have been given the warmest welcome and the stereotypes which had developed locally in my home country have been shattered...

- I wonder how and why it happens that when people from ’some’ countries move to a Western nation a minority showcase the very worst their nation and culture has to offer...  Is this the same of Westerners in other countries such as Thailand ????

these guys are idiots and should be booked ... well done COPS.

What do you think they got? A thousand or two in fines and allowed to carry on with their days. Many of these guys are on Xmaxs and Tmaxs - not cheap to rent. A fine is no deterrent whatsoever, or else everyone would be riding around with licences and helmets.

The police need to clamp down on everyone and then sharp objects like these will learn to respect the law - earlier this evening the police were controlling the lights outside the police station (I was sat on a red for 14 minutes!) and pulling over dozens of bikes - but we all know that they are peeing into the wind as this enforcement is not maintained and the fines are little more than a minor inconvenience to most tourists and something to brag about on SM or when they get home - all part of the Thai experience.

In high school, we were taught that term by our French language teacher.

Can't the Police ever do something off their own bat.

Do they always have to wait for public complaints.

Jeeeez , they are a bunch of lazy sods.

"...a bunch of lazy sods".

The RTP operate in a similar fashion to the "lazy sods" in your country where they also react to and rely on complaints from the public and don't do everything off their own bats in may cases, they cannot be everywhere.
