Why are we seeing so many UFO'S now ?

Just imagine how low cost balloon launched systems would be compared to other means.  40k feet so they could distribute chemicals or bird flu or whatever.   Currently bird flu h5n1 is having a big impact in USA.  Even transferred to mammals like bear, fox, etc.   Jet stream heads East out of China at 150mph.

More eyes/spying/intelligence + awareness. Clearly not every UFO (didn't they change the acronym recently? big stigma) has a little green bloke behind the wheel. Though they are also there... one would have to be a simpleton if they imagined two trillion-plus galaxies x 100 billion stars with countless planets and moons could not produce something that would rival us. Never mind.

Sure they could do it , but what is the point . Virus particles will be long death before hitting a single animal ( UV radiation is also much higher at that altitude) . Chemicals , well there is a reason you do have chimneys and chemical companies got chimneys/flares reaching way higher. That is because of the spread of remaining chemicals . At x altitude the distance for heaviest particles reaching the ground is safe . Now that balloons or whatever is 1000's of feet of 5-20 km in the sky , nothing will ever touch the ground , it will stay in orbit and get diluted to the point of 0 .

Releasing a virus or chemical , is done where animals or people are , this way you infect others straight away. It means at ground lvl or certainly less then 1 km/300ft in the sky . Any person with bad intentions could do it , feeding pigeons , going on public transport or mall ...

So no , they re not used for something like that .

UFO have always been around , 99.9% of the cases can easily been detected on what they are . This leaves the others , which are unknown , and might be alien . If they are alien , they have technology which i believe does not exist ( not only we don't know , but really cannot happen ) . If it does exist , this goes way , way further then our knowledge and that by itself would mean comparing a butterfly vs Albert Einstein lvl . In this case we would be the butterfly.

Yes there are billions and billions of galaxies , with billions and billions more stars and planets . Is there somewhere intelligent life ? high chance there is . The chance reaching us ... in any form or way ... 0.00001% . Remember even closest galaxies are x amount of light years away .

My guess is someone is playing an elaborate hoax with large, unusually shaped hydrogen balloons.

Launch one and you provoke a $ multi million fighter jet attack.  The Chinese balloon was the catalyst, as it's got everyone on edge.

The lack of any explanation from NORAD may be a clue ..... they can't find any wreckage as it's just a bag of gas?

But I hope it's not friendly aliens, as the welcome from the US was not exactly friendly.

Indeed, but one only needs to attain a significant percentage of light to close down vast distances per unit time... it is the ultimate speed, though impossible to get near with our current understanding of course (we're still too busy building bombs) but it's all there in special relativity equations. Also ignoring manipulation of spacetime with big energy. This stuff with yours, and my, brain is just not on point to comprehend such a thing... another million years of evolution will have you a god.

Rival us? How about dwarf us by comparison? We are not particularly impressive as a species.

Considering the vastness of the universe, I consider it sheer hubris, that so many insist we are the only intelligent species in the entire universe. It would not surprise me if there were millions of highly evolved populations on distant planets.

Just look around. Are we really that amazing? I should say no. Not impressive. We have not even figured out nuclear fusion yet, and world peace is a distant dream. We are just now figuring out less invasive surgery. Advanced? Barely. And only by very modest standards.

We have no idea how advanced telecommunication or teleportation works, and we have barely figured out the relationship between the health of our soil, and the way we treat it.

We foul our environment to no end, we use a primitive oil product to power our vehicles, and we treat our great oceans like dumping grounds. We are arrogant yes. Truly advanced? No.

And if an alien group could contact us, why would they want to get in touch with us? For an advanced alien civilization, it would be like taking a dip into the universal sewer. Not only are we not alone, it is likely we are one of the least evolved civilizations even within our own galaxy, much less the vastness of the universe!

How can anyone comprehend the vastness of this universe, and say it is likely we are the only form of intelligent life within it?

No. We are alone is infinitely more terrifying. If earthlings are the best this universe has, that would be terrifying. We are an exceedingly unimpressive civilization.

They have come to offer some advice and assistance, and likely tell us we are one of the least evolved, least peaceful, and least dignified civilizations in this part of our galaxy.

If they are gathering, IMO it's getting ready to annihilate us as a potential threat to the peace loving people's of the universe if we ever manage to start traveling in space.

I see we think alike about the human race.

Given the universe is quite old, it's likely that the first planets to support life have civilisations far more advanced than ours, and if so we may have come to their attention as a likely threat if ever we manage to escape into space.

They may be assembling asteroids as we speak.
