onthedarkside
The watchdog said Tesla's software allows a vehicle to "exceed speed limits or travel through intersections in an unlawful or unpredictable manner", increasing the risk of an accident. The recall covers 2016-2023 Model S, Model X, 2017-2023 Model 3, and 2020-2023 Model Y vehicles equipped with FSD Beta software. It was unclear, currently, whether the alert had implications for Tesla's cars in other countries including the UK. https://news.sky.com/story/tesla-recalls-362-000-cars-in-us-over-fears-full-self-driving-software-may-cause-crashes-12812624
thaibeachlovers
Had I known that they were even going to put that capabilities in a car, I'd be saying "I told you so" now. Insane idea, IMO, at present time. Wait till computers are more reliable.
KhunLA
Hard to believe people really are that stupid, to not pay attention or take their hands off the steering wheel while operating a vehicle.

bamnutsak
I can't watch the (POV) Youtube videos of people "testing" their Tesla's FSD capabilities, just too scary. But for some reason the third-party view of folks asleep is fascinating. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NHUZxeSUFUk Edited February 17, 2023 by bamnutsak

Bkk Brian
Musk has a history of making promises that cannot be kept and even promoting false claims. This from back in 2016 but just made public last month. Tesla video promoting self-driving was staged, senior engineer testifies A 2016 video that Tesla used to promote its self-driving technology was staged to show capabilities like stopping at a red light and accelerating at a green light that the system did not have, according to testimony by a senior engineer. The video, which remains archived on Tesla’s website, was released in October 2016 and promoted on Twitter by Elon Musk as evidence that “Tesla drives itself”. https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2023/jan/17/tesla-self-driving-video-staged-testimony-senior-engineer
KhunLA
Hard to believe, anywhere in the world, people would let their car self drive. Here, TH, can be tricky when you are paying attention. Not so much where I am, as they seem to drive quite good here: Ko Lak, PKK Edited February 17, 2023 by KhunLA
