Thai Rath reported on several developments yesterday evening in the case of the disappearance of the eight month old infant boy called "Nong Tor".

The young parents - Nim aged 15 and Phut 17 (the step dad) - claimed initially that Tor had been abducted.

The case also involves a man named as "Uncle Jae" a friend of Phut's father.

Thailand's poster boy deputy commander Pol Lt-Gen Surachate Hakpan got involved after the case stalled.

The high profile case is yet another in the career of the man known as Big Joke.

He was highly critical of the Bang Luang, Nakhon Pathom, central Thailand, police for their bungling in the case.

He put the provincial authorities in charge.

Early evening yesterday Surachate announced that Nim had admitted that she's been lying.

Principally she lied about a man in a yellow shirt taking her child. But she still refuses to say what really happened and where the boy is located.

Later in the evening Surachate said that Phut has been charged with prostituting his wife to Lung Jae.

He faces human trafficking charges as his wife is only 15.

His mother turned up with 100,000 in bail money but bail was denied.

He is expected to be ordered held by the court today.

Meanwhile Lung Jae has been charged with offences related to sleeping with a minor.

Surachate said that he was confident that in the coming days the truth will emerge about what has happened to the boy - whether he is alive or dead.

He also referred to doctors who had reported that the boy had been running a fever of 39C but the parents had refused treatment and took him home.

Ominously, Thai Rath reported that their sources had suggested that bloodstains had been found on a motorcycle connected to the case.

Stay tuned on ASEAN NOW for more details about this high profile case.

15 year old girl with 8 year old son???????

That doesn't sound right!

Just another bad translation.

It says 8 year old infant, so probably 8 months old.

Does a typo sound right?

If the man had the gull to prostitute his wife, he probably sold off the boy or that the boy has met with unfortunate and untimely demise somehow.
