Thai Tea Named 7th Best Non-alcoholic Drink In The World by TasteAtlas

Thai tea was ranked seventh among the top 100 Best Rated Non-alcoholic Beverages in the world by TasteAtlas, a travel guide platform.

 

TasteAtlas is an online food atlas that offers information about authentic and traditional dishes from various parts of the world. It allows users to explore interesting dishes by region, country, or ingredient, and also provides a platform for users to suggest dishes, recipes, and recommendations.

On Sunday the website released its list of 100 Best Rated Non-Alcoholic Beverages in the World, and Thai Tea, also called Thai Milk Tea, was ranked seventh on the list.

Wow, another Thai hub coming up, Ok TAT, get cracking on the hub of tea, that should guarantee at least another 20,000,000 tourist this year.

Crazy. This drink is almost pure sugar, or whatever the sweetener used is. I used to drink it kind of mid afternoon as a quick fix for heat exhaustion. The effects wear off after about 30 minutes. The only answer is to drink another one. One of the worst drinks in the world nutritionally. How can it possibly be ranked 7th in the world? On what basis? Another nonsense poll.

Why not promote true Thai tea, instead of these concocted drinks.

Thai tea does have a particular virtue about it - only taken a few decades too perfect

I like plain "chaa dahm" better.  It's the famous "Thai iced tea" without the dairy and sweeteners.

Thai tea, I'm guessing, is all sugar.

Yes indeed, from my experience when living in Thailand. I like iced tea but as a type 2 insulin dependent diabetic, I always had difficulty in finding "sugar free" varieties.

The young leaves from shrubs grown in the cool uplands are plucked at dawn by a team of non- mensturating Thai virgins and rushed to onsite driers to produce a product whose fragrance is lauded by connoisseurs across the globe.......????

We drink Royal Project Black tea, and other teas such as (black)  HoarFrost or Just Black Tea.  Afternoon we chose Oolong.

 

There is a fantastic range of real teas available here, In Chiang Mai, at Warorot market, there is a fantastic range of Thai teas for sale and ne'er a tea bag to be seen.  In the food court a lady sells a type of hot red tea that hits the parts that 'Thaitea' will never reach.

I took one mouthful of that horrible drink once, spat it out and have never touched it again.
