March 23, 20232 yr Did anybody go? Was any useful information imparted? Do we actually still have an Honorary Consul living on Samui as I note this lady's title is HM British Consul a paid post with duties covering the whole of Thailand and not just Samui?

March 24, 20232 yr As it seems no AN members who maybe went to the British Embassy reception in Samui yesterday have any comments to make, I did a bit of digging and found that a similar reception had been held in Chiang Mai only a couple of months ago and which fortunately someone there recorded most of the event. I imagine the speech the Consul gave there has to be similar to the one she gave yesterday so for anyone interested and having the spare time or interest to listen to 1 hr 23 mins of her speaking, here is the link:
