Daily News Thai Caption: Second volley of tear gas

 

Daily News reported that commandos and special forces had yet to storm a house at 2.30 am this morning where a man referred to as a "Mad Inspector" is holed up.

 

Earlier there were many shots fired in the house in the Mankhong housing estate in Saphan Mai, northern Bangkok.

 

The standoff had been going on for 19 hours.

 

In a latest action a second volley of tear gas comprising 20 canisters was lobbed into the property.

 

This caused reporters and locals gawking to scatter.

Disgruntled Cop Detained, Injured After Clash

BANGKOK, March 15 (TNA) – The disgruntled police inspector has been detained and taken to hospital after more than 24-hour standoff in a housing estate in Bangkok’s Sai Mai district.

 

National police chief Pol. Gen. Damrongsak Kittiprapas arrived at the scene on Wednesday morning to control the situation.

 

Drone footage showed the off-duty cop was lying in his house.
