TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Donald Trump’s allies are stepping up their battle with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, formally accusing him of violating state ethics and election laws with his “shadow presidential campaign.”

Make America Great Again Inc. is filing a 15-page complaint Wednesday with the Florida Commission on Ethics, a draft of which was obtained exclusively by NBC News.

It asks the commission to probe whether pro-DeSantis super PACs, his "personally lucrative book tour" and a continued wave of state-level campaign contributions, among other things, "are unlawful because they serve his personal political objectives, are in furtherance of his personal financial gain at the expense of Florida taxpayers, and are intended to influence his official decision to resign from office."

trump complaining about other people's ethics - you can't ******* make this stuff up!!

:cheesy::cheesy::cheesy::cheesy:

I have seen the videos and Trump goes for the throat. I wonder how well Republicans will navigate what could be continued vicious attacks. Ron speaking out on no longer wanting to defeat Russian aggressions. Pass the popcorn, please.

Good.

The more they fight each other, the less time and money they have to fight for the next presidential election.

I hope that the whole current GOP self destructs and is rebuilt from the ground upwards by sensible intelligent people.

Awww are Ronnie and Donnie having a spat?taking time out of their busy schedule of arguing about how to support the 21th century hitler (Putin) or stripping women of their rights,on and on……I think both of them could use a (bit) of help in the ethics department two self serving opportunists imo neither one belongs in a leadership position in my opinion

Not since the dawn of supply-side economics has the Republican Party been run by sensible intelligent people. Or at least by people who don't claim to believe that nonsense. and lots of other foolishiness too.

Well, Trump can no longer feign ignorance of the laws on campaign financing.

In 2008 when the world economy took a blow the guy who was behind Reagan's supply-side push admitted (somewhat) that it was his mistake.  My interpretation of it, during the Reagan years, was that it was a "band-aid economy": the actions were not a cure, but a band-aid to hold it together for now, and when it falls off those responsible could say  "me? I haven't worked with that stuff in years!"  The bandage held for 25 years.

They did a similar thing with AIDS: Ronny ordered a study, the results of which would not be released until he was out of office.
