more on the travels

Im happy that I can get to go to europe again so soon after my previous trip. ( no am not rich :D .... just have a rich and generous choccy-mama (read sugar-daddy equivalent)

but all jokes aside......

heres my plan:

12 days in Germany, with last weekend in Cologne.

Cologne to frankfurt to Milan. very excited about being back in italy again!! but Im also dreading the winter!! someone help!!!

anyhow, from there will go first to verona, spend some days there with a friend...then head back for the weekend in milan, where hopefully 1 or 2, possibly (fingers crossed!)3 friends will join us. coincidentally, these are all girl friends, so if they can all make it, Im looking forward to some fun girls nights out :D

from there Ill head to athens for another few days. havent got much planned for there either, but know that i should check out the acropolis and adelphi. i wont have a weekend here (silly flight options!)

anyhow.....Im sure with the short cold winter days, I will only have a few hours per day to do the sights, so will take enough days to see just a couple of things :D

so why do I still mention this on bedlam?

well...I just thought....since Ill be catching up with some 'non-cyber' friends, Id also let the cyber friends (you know who you are....so no smartypants comments please :bah: ) know Im gonna be in the vicinity....in case anyone wants to join us :D

but mainly...Im also looking for someone to tell me theres a miracle, and by somewhatever greenhouse effect europe is gonna be 25 degrees this summer :o pls pls pls

:bah:

Verona is Fab, wrong time for the Opera in the Arena but close to Romero and Juliette for some Roooomance!

Now Milan, City of Shopping and the San Siro, once went there just by following the crowd, jumped on the tube and got off when they did, followed them on the Fan bus and bought a ticket from a tout, ended up in the Gods and the place kicked off , riot police, tear gas extremely large dogs, time to leave rather rapidly!!

Went to the Piazza, you must go and see the Douma, truly magnificent for someone like me, but even to the lay man, staggering.

I went in during Mass, unbelievable.

You have a great time, but you had better be in Bangkok in early December.

:D my Freudian slip? summer?? :D

Moss, I shall be back on the 2nd Dec...waiting for my date. please make sure he dresses well..none of that silly outfit he had on the other day :o

thanks also for the tip on Verona and Milan... it did cross my mind to try and catch a football game while there.... see some of the real hooligan fans for myself :D although I did experience a tiny version of it in germany during the world cup final last year :bah:

has Istanbul been mentioned already? I just come back from a trip to Europe and since I flew with Turkish Airlines (crap service but good fares...) I decided with the wife to stay two nights in Istanbul...we were VERY impressed!

Try to get a hotel in the old city (PLENTY of them) and all the sightseeing is within walking distance! Pricelevel just slightly above Bangkok and a stunning experience!

For visa check with the embassy. Germans don't need any, British get theirs at the airport upon arrival and the Turkish Embassy did not promise too much when they told me on the phone "you will be surprised how easy visas can be...". It was a piece of cake indeed!
