Dispirited Prayut exits stage left after Chuwit addressed him by megaphone on cannabis policy

Scenes from Chinatown in Bangkok on Thursday evening as Chuwit Kamolvisit led a crowd to the restaurant where Prime Minister Prayut Chan ocha was dining with top aides and asked him to explain his policy on marijuana. Afterwards, the PM was pictured in his car frowning but later said it was more to do with the hot weather and not related to Mr Chuwit’s antics. He said he smiled every day but not for bad people.

Afterwards, General Prayut said he was not angry because of Mr Chuwit’s presence and attributed his frown to the hot weather. He told the press that he smiled every day but not for bad people.

The former massage parlour, whistleblower and now anti-marijuana campaigner Chuwit Kamolvisit spoiled the party for Prime Minister Prayut Chan ocha as he campaigned in the Chinatown area of Bangkok this week after he tried to elucidate General Prayut’s position on the issue of cannabis in this election and the widespread pot revolution which has occurred in the country since June 2022. The campaigner arrived with a crowd outside a restaurant where Prayut was dining with top aides and addressed him with a megaphone from the street. The PM who earlier in the day had seemed smiling, interacting and even kicking a ball for the public, was later pictured in his car glowering although he later insisted that his expression had nothing to do with Mr Chuwit’s activities.

 

Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan ocha appeared somewhat annoyed on Thursday evening after a well-choreographed day’s campaigning in Bangkok ended in a standoff with anti-corruption activist Chuwit Kamolvisit who stood outside a restaurant in the Chinatown district of the capital and asked the government leader about his views on the widespread liberalisation of marijuana ushered in by his Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Health Anutin Charnvirakul.

I don't understand why power-junkies need to remain in the spotlight for their entire life.
I mean really.  He's worth a s***-ton of money. Most are. Lordy, take a permanent break, retire, travel, check off your bucket-list, and enjoy what's left of your life. 
An elderly, over-weight curmudgeon like Prawit for example is likely to keel over face-first into his dead-friend's Lap Muu from the constant stress of being in the public's eye and having to constantly prop up whatever reputation he imagines he has.

All the elderly politicians world-wide ???? For Pete sake boys and girls - STOP!

don't forget Chuwit has already done his porridge. One of several things makes him so dfficult to nail, along with he knows much nastier people than Prayut/Prawit/Anutin.

 

I have met and discussed politics etc with Chuwit. He's a very nice guy, speaks fantastic English and very reserved - until he hits a husting.

Chuwit must have a very very powerful friend in the wings to be trash talking the establishment left and right, because if both the Shinawatra PMs were sent packing, how does this ex con get to grandstand without any blowback?

I would hang around with an idiot mouthing off with a megaphone either.  I certainly would call Prayut leaving a "stage left" maneuver, it was more like Chuwit just being a horses ass.

He's got all the inside info on all the rich and finest Thai's who used to frequent his massage parlours. I'd be surprised if that info didn't include plenty of video evidence either.

Hopefully he has it all well hidden away for when the time comes to write his memoirs.

I don't agree with the opposition to cannabis. However, I do agree with giving Prayuth a hard time whenever possible. He needs to be knocked off that ivory perch, and gain some perspective on reality. He has had so many people around him for so long that are sycophants, he has forgotten just how small, incapable and truly insignificant he really is. 

 

He will find out next month.!
