Lots are strolling along beach road, second road looking for Thai delights, rest, relaxation, entertainment and unspeakable pleasures. champers Posted April 24, 2023 Share Posted April 24, 2023 A steady stream of coaches are bringing them to Hard Rock Hotel on 2nd Rd this afternoon. There are huge queues for the ATMs at Bangkok Bank and 7/11 and a wide variety of hawkers have descended on the area selling sunglasses, Marlboro ciggies, roses and boom boom pills. The police have had to set up emergency traffic calming measures ( a cop with a whistle). Then again, from what I've seen the last decade or so, US military personnel on shore leave/RnR have become very tame and generally well behaved, likely because the command structure treats them like the retarded youngsters and eventual future McJobbers that most of them are, and keeps them in fear of severe punishment.
