Popular Post snoop1130 Posted April 26, 2023 Popular Post Posted April 26, 2023 Image: Google There’s been more drama involving stray dogs at Ao Nang Beach in Krabi province. A pack of stray dogs intimidated two foreign tourists on the beach, The Phuket Express reported yesterday. The couple was walking their pet dog along the beach when the pack of five to six strays aggressively barked at them. The couple tried to chase the dogs away, but they were unsuccessful. Video footage released on Daily Mail recorded the incident. The tourists finally picked up their dog and walked away. They recommended that relevant officials remove all stray dogs from the area. This news comes after another incident involving stray dogs on Ao Nang Beach just last month. Popular Post daveAustin Posted April 26, 2023 Popular Post Posted April 26, 2023 Nothing speaks louder than third world than packs of stray dogs chasing down tourists. There's been a huge surge of them since the army took over. That's how effective the Thai army is. ???? 4 1 5
Popular Post Mavideol Posted April 26, 2023 Popular Post Posted April 26, 2023 was bitten there 2 years ago, police removed or has been trying to remove them, take 5-6 away and 10 new ones arrive, was there last month and same old same old..... 2 years ago while posting I had the "smart" idea of saying they should be killed but some "keyboard warriors" here got into arguments and insults, too many bad things happening, TAT (if concerned about tourists) should be concerned 3 1 1
bignok Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 Terrible beach anyway. Ao Nang is the worst holiday location in Thailand. 2 1
RandiRona Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 And I thought only cop hound tourists in Pattaya!! May be these dogs are trained to ask for documents for tourists and the illegal dog they are carrying and pushing them to a 'smart car' where they can be tested for drugs.... Thailand.. Popular Post StayinThailand2much Posted April 26, 2023 Popular Post Posted April 26, 2023 Judging from what I constantly see in both, Bangkok and Pattaya, they get fed, and not little, by locals. No wonder, they become aggressive, and multiply. 3 1

Being concerned about the safety of tourists? Only if it was heavily discussed in social media, if at all. 1
fasteddie Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 So they take a strange dog on to their patch and wonder why the locals are upset, they're just shouting that's all. 1 2
thailandsgreat Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 I have been more than annoyed by packs of dogs when I have been hiking along public roads in many parts of Thailand, outside tourist areas. It is part of life in Thailand and some other countries. In Buriram I showed some video of particularly aggressive dogs to the police and just asked for advice. The officer showed the video to his collegues and he said he understood my problem. At least that was comforting ???? In some places the owners are also near but don't do anything. One must get used to that. Many funny dialogues: local people: you shouldn't kick, you must pick up something and throw at them me: but if I bend down they will bite me ???? In one place I had a small branch of tree stashed away behind a tree and used to aim at them with when I passed that area. (public road in a city, but hiking on foot is no big thing in Thailand, the dogs rule) But to the defense of Thai dogs I can say that I have only been bitten softly a couple of times and that rabies is hopefully not so common. 1
Popular Post Wuvu2 Posted April 26, 2023 Popular Post Posted April 26, 2023 Pet dogs mauling neighborhood children are one thing, but if strays are messing with tourism the authorities are sure to take real action ???? 3

ikke1959 Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 kill them as they attack people. They don't have an owner and probably no one is taking care of them.. 1 1
Popular Post AndyAndyAndy Posted April 26, 2023 Popular Post Posted April 26, 2023 Today was market in our village. And stray dogs were hanging out and looking desperately at people at a stand that sold grilled chickens. So I went ahead and bought 3 pieces of grilled chicken on stick. And gave it to each of dogs. ???? Long live the stray dogs. ???? Let the cowardly farang dog haters seethe. ???? 3 2 1

Hanaguma Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 Get rid of them. Pests akin to rats. Civilized countries dont have this problem, nor do countries that are trying to attract the mythical "well heeled" tourist crowd. If people want dogs as pets, fine. On their own property, leashed if off property. 2

Popular Post NextG Posted April 26, 2023 Popular Post Posted April 26, 2023 Is this newsworthy? If the couple were afraid, they wouldn’t have put their dog back down on the beach so soon. Totally pathetic that this made the news. What next? “Man talks to woman in the beach”? 2 1

Bundooman Posted April 27, 2023 Posted April 27, 2023 I'm totally in favour of rounding up these dogs and offering them for sale to Korea, Myanmar or wherever else they eat them. Good earner for the government - winner for tourists and for Thais wishing to dump their unwanted dogs. So many advantages, but sadly, unlikely to happen 2 1

thailandsgreat Posted April 27, 2023 Posted April 27, 2023 Remember staying in Pattaya while the city was emptying of tourists due to Covid. The occasional stray dogs you had seen before, gradually took back control of the streets as the tourists left.

The OP photo does show a bit more of a dynamic situation but you will note that is sourced as "Google" and totally unrelated to this incident- from what I can tell. It's almost as if the foreign oriented press here in Thailand know what topics are going to get a reaction and try to manufacture something along those lines to generate traffic 1 1

ChipButty Posted April 27, 2023 Posted April 27, 2023 Not only that beach, Huge problems around Nai Harn in Phuket, ride your bike around the lake and packs of them come running out, many people have come off their bikes, one of my friends did I had to take him to hospital, I think some years ago the Chinese tourist did a lot of complaining about the amount of stray dogs in my area,

proton Posted April 27, 2023 Posted April 27, 2023 Great channel if you have not come across it, black guy in the USA, talks a lot of sense about the scourge of Dogs 1
Popular Post Stocky Posted April 27, 2023 Popular Post Posted April 27, 2023 They should organise a systematic cull of any stray dogs. Dog owners are warned to keep their pets at home on specific days and then anything outside running wild is shot. It's what they did in Namibia when I worked there, to keep rabies out of the national park areas. 1 1 1

Treat them nice and feed them and quite often they'll kip around your bungalow an no one can approach without them letting you know.
