The World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared that Covid-19 no longer represents a "global health emergency".

The statement represents a major step towards ending the pandemic and comes three years after it first declared its highest level of alert over the virus.

Officials said the virus' death rate had dropped from a peak of more than 100,000 people per week in January 2021 to just over 3,500 on 24 April.

Excellent to see the WHO acknowledge this.

Maybe this will help Thailand join the rest of the world, and stop treating covid like it's March 2020.

One can only hope.

so will this finally put an end to the recent scare mongering that has been going on ?

Even if Covid was 100% eradicated Thais will still be wearing masks for the rest of their life's.

There will always be scaremongering, it will never stop. If it is not covid it will be something else. Too many people have become rich through it.

Before the vaccines were out it was

reasonable to be scared and scaremonger. If it made people cautious.

As someone who worked through covid looking after covid patients in hospital ,i can tell you its terrifying at times.

sure we survived but please dont forget the millions who didnt my (father included).
