Popular Post webfact
Picture: INN BANGKOK -- On May 7, 2023, Maj. Gen. Montri Thetkhan, Commander-in-Chief, updated the progress of arresting a renowned former monk and his accomplices, who are accused of embezzling over 180 million baht from a temple. Following their apprehension, the primary suspect, Mr. Kom, and his sister admitted to transferring temple funds into his sister's bank account and retaining some cash at home. Nonetheless, both of them denied having any intention to defraud the temple, reported INN. Currently, the three suspects are in custody at police headquarters, with plans to transfer them to the Criminal Court for corruption and misconduct cases on May 8. Maj. Gen. Montri also disclosed that the total estimated loss resulting from the alleged embezzlement stands at over 180 million baht. Due to the ongoing public holiday, only limited investigations have been carried out, but further progress is anticipated within the week. Moreover, on May 8, the Sangha committee will appoint an investigator to assess the temple's assets and collaboratively open the temple's safe to determine if any property is missing. The investigative team from the police headquarters has been instructed to participate in the audit as well. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2023-05-08 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. ikke1959
With the ordination the monks throw away their money as a symbol that they don't need it... I am always wondering why monks have so much on their bankaccounts.. People give them money for praying at home/funerals and weddings, but in fact that money should be given to the temple and not kept by monks.. That is Buddhism how it should be...

Emdog
It wasn't fraud. It was just some good old fashioned theft. 1
Sydebolle
Name the p1rikc by full name with photo and distribute that all over the local TV and social media. It cannot be, that those "men of the cloth" and their "helpers", be it family or external, just get "defrocked" and thrown out of the "Sangkha". I see many of those brainwashed believers of the faith parting with little money they have just to get scwerded by such cookrs. It gives the entire institution of faith a very bad reputation and this can be stopped to a screeching halt considering the importance of face, reputation and the (assumed) self-esteem. What a farçe!
