What type of beans are they please? They look like the real thing.

Can you simply boil the beans until soft?

Along with red/green peppers, onions, little cayenne, and a few spicy sausages.   It's not just a side dish, or bread topper.

I use Pinto beans and use a spicy Cajun recipe. For me much better than the sweet "baked beans". Has just what you said.

I like a bit of curry powdwe in my beans, or a spoonful of peanut butter and sriracha sauce = Satay Beans.

And the aforesaid Peanut Butter is so easy to DIY. Bag of shelled nuts for Bht 40. Half an hour in a 100* oven til slightly brown, food processor with a bit of oil (coconut) and a dash of salt to taste. Process to your own desired 'crunchiness' Done.

Beans (40bht) and Tomato sauce (30bht) from Makro, makes around 4 tins of baked beans (17.5 baht per tin) + 30 minutes electric + hassle  + washing cooking pots.

1 tin of Ayam English recipe beans = 49 Baht at Big C extra. Cheaper at Makro.

I think I can afford the few baht extra, and just open a can when I want to eat them

Electric free (solar).

Washing up free (Thai woman)

That would make sense if the solar installation and the upkeep of the Thai woman were free.
