You remind me of the Japanese soldier in the Phillipines who surrendered in 1974.

Nothing could convince him the war was over, a letter from the emperor, his own brother singing school songs, thousands of newspapers past and present.

Nigel blamed everyone but reality in that interview, but the fact remains it FAILED, and it doesn't matter who, how, when, or where, it's from the old spivs mouth to your ears.

Brexit has failed!

The war is over, Mac Mick San.

Yep, over. We're out... and it'll cost far too much to rejoin.

From the linked article:

“I voted Brexit, all of us did,” he says. “Because of what we were led to believe, not just for the fishing industry, but on other things as well. For any young guy just starting, like my two lads, it’s a worry. And that’s all down to Brexit and losing our quota.”

I look forward to seeing the link where Starmer said " we will not be seeking to rejoin the EU for now but maybe later". If you don't have a link but believe it's on the cards if Labour get a second term, he's lying.

As for the EU allowing UK a gradual rejoin, you don't believe that could happen anymore than anyone else, including Labour MPs.

maybe should ask EU's opinion about the possibility of re-joining, maybe they don't want the UK back, too much winning and finger pointing who wants that

I'm not interested in rejoining. Why would I ask?

Why would we want to do that? We're already outperforming the German economy from outside the EU. Looks like they really did need the UK after all. Imagine that!!!

From the linked article:

"The UK is still expected to be the second slowest growing nation in the G7 group of leading economies this year"

The good news is also that UK may finally catch-up the pre-pandemic level at the end of this year! ????

You should really do some research before posting this type of drivel.

Well , Germany is the lowest and we know why. UK is the second lowest and we also know why.

As to the FT article, it is based on outdated data. According to the latest data available, the current level of UK GDP is below pre-pandemic level.

You can check here (updated 25 July)

Crystal Ball stuff.

The IMF consistently underestimates UK growth. They're a laughing stock where it comes to UK predictions. 3 whole % out in 2021. I posted the real figures above. So tell me, where is the cliff edge that Project Fear hyped up? Didn't happen, did it...

Only believe the figures that suit your narrative, eh?

I also posted the 'real' projected figures which show that the UK is predicted to grow more slowly than the Eurozone and the wider EU this year.

Falling off a cliff edge? Maybe not - although the 10% overnight decline in sterling when the referendum result was announced was quite a descent - more like, a steady slide down a steep hill.

Where's those sunny uplands we were promised?
