snoop1130
Deputy Prime Minister Wisanu Krea-ngam has advised the Move Forward party to use “diplomatic means” to woo support, especially among senators, for approval for its leader Pita Limjaroenrat to become prime minister, instead of resorting to harsh criticism or condemnation. Speaking to the media on Thursday morning, the government’s top legal expert said that that the potential coalition line up, led by Move Forward, which now has about 313 votes in the Lower House, can become a very solid government, but they still need the support of senators for the appointment of its prime ministerial candidate and, again, for constitutional amendments. He reiterated his earlier advice that sweet talking and extending an olive branch will overcome all the obstacles, saying there is no need to rush as they have about three months, 60 days for the endorsement of all the MPs-elect and another 30 days for the formation of the government. Popular Post Thingamabob
Typical statement on behalf of the Thai establishment. Unless and until the power of the senate ia greatly reduced elections will remain a waste of time and money.

Popular Post Toolong
Apologies for my indulgently cathartic comment made just to selfishly get something off my chest....but Wissanu's got serious mileage in terms of piloting the junta through the storm over these 9 years and worse, helped decisively to create the very effed-up 250 senator situation. (Think....a very creepy, vile version of Robert Duvall's mob lawyer in Godfather and you've got it.) In what direction and for what purpose doth this silk-safari-suited reptile now slither? 2

That’s what it comes down to in Thailand isn’t it? Not what’s best for the country, but just how rich can I make myself and to hell with anything or anyone else 1 1

That would mean treason to the people who voted for them , but is probably the only way to avoid open conflict . bamnutsak
It's a threat. He means "middle path" or compromise (on LM). IMO he should not be interfering in the process, and he should remain silent on this matter. Caretakers should be seen and not heard.

It's good advice and Pita should listen, the way he is going he will deny his supporters their wish to see his party in power, after all is'nt that what they want? 1
AgMech Cowboy
wow... Such cynical comments. I've learned over the years that 'demanding' and pushing just gets push back. If you try to force feed the Senate, the members will just bow up. The Deputy PM gave good advice and I'm quite sure that the Move Forward leaders already know this. He only commented to 'reassure' them to continue their pursuits in that direction (and of course to stay relevant). Sydebolle
Wisanu Krea-ngam might want to retire, he is 72 years old by age and much older by the dinometer; if married with kids - maybe play with grand kids for quality time of whatever is left for him ????
