Beware of purchasing big ticket items on Lazada

I wanted to take a moment to warn my fellow members about Lazada. Though I have had generally good experiences with Lazada, on smaller ticket items, I bought my first larger item recently. It was a Vinocave wine cooler. Big mistake. Looked like an official dealer. First, they only offered a one month warranty, which I failed to notice. Second, nobody has ever heard of the brand (another mistake on my part, for not researching it enough). Third, the unit stopped cooling properly after only 4 months. And both the seller and Lazada are totally unhelpful, with something as simple as "how do I get it repaired, or any other solution. I am out of luck. Since I cannot find anyone who has ever heard of the brand online, looks like it may end getting thrown away, if a local appliance repair guy cannot figure it out.

So, a word to the wise. When it comes to appliances, and other bigger ticket items, better to stick with the big box stores, such as Central, Power Buy, Home Pro, etc. They do offer service.

Every time you buy on online marketplace the return limit is always 1 month, that includes Amazon. After that you have to contact the manufacturer for the warranty. This is why on Lazada it is best to buy big ticket items from so called flagship stores. I don't want to criticize you, but you obviously went for something cheap and expected great customer service. Not gonna happen.... anywhere, not just Lazada.

Trolling emojis placed on posts have also been removed.

Small cost, no problem. Good suppliers get my repeat business. I read the customer reviews, although some may be fake. I only buy if the supplier is listed as a Thailand address.

Too risky to be buying big ticket items on the internet. I prefer a bricks and mortar operation, so I can go back there if a problem arises.

I think the wise already know…

I guess there are only two possibilities… and I know just about nothing on the subject: the compressor or a problem with the circuit board. Refrigeration specialist for the first, AliExpress for the second.
I note that they have a 1 star review on HomeDepot. I guess it’s Chinese made. You can probably find details of the manufacturer somewhere on the device and write to them for advice. You can ask an English speaking stockist for advice; PolarTech Australia.

Made in China...says it all really.

Another nonsense topic starter whining about Lazada while it could have happened with any offline shop or other platform / private seller too. Can be about the quality of the product in the first place, can be about just having bad luck with a product and so on and on.

Beware of absolutely nothing except a chance to be influenced with subjective opinions of members here.

And yet you blame Lazada?

Beware about not reading the whole story and not thinking reasonably(no name brand).

Hear, hear!  Buy (unbranded) garbage, get (unbranded) garbage!

I have bought a few big (20,000 baht+) items from Lazada. They have all been fine except one laptop which i returned easily. The key is to buy from decent suppliers with good reviews not some fly by night Chinese shops who offer silly prices.

Partially. First of all they are not vetting vendors well. Second, they certainly could have made an effort to at least intervene, and ask the vendor where I can get the unit serviced, rather than throw it away. It is a strange and bizarre thing called customer service.

And you’re blaming Lazada for your lack of due diligence …. how embarrassing

Well, since I do not get embarrassed over what strangers think of me, it is not so. I may be experiencing some minor regret. But, that is about it.

To be fair, it’s you who has failed to do any due diligence and you has suggested throwing it away. Seems altogether careless.
You have avenues to pursue or you can decide that it’s not worth your time.
