Majority of senators “undecided” about voting for Pita as new Thai PM

Who will then almost immediately be forced to call an election that they will lose and no longer be PM.

It is a certainty - any minority junta government will immediately face and lose a no confidence motion and be forced to call an election.

Hard to know exactly what is going to happen.  Could be that the "negotiations" will lead to Pita being allowed to be PM if he agrees to certain restrictions, or it could be that this is not given the go-ahead and something else will occur.

The only certainty is that nothing is certain.

Your post history is accessible for all to read, fanboy.

As is usually the rule, if you have to make things up, attack the person, etc., it indicates you cannot form a valid argument.  This appears to be true for you here.

Could come down to who is on shaky ground in the House. … if The House is going to pushed out by Move Forward then House vote for the opposition…  we won’t know until we know…

He neither made things up nor "attacked" the person - he pointed out that the person's posting history clearly shows a bias towards the unelected military government. That is relevant in the context of this discussion.

If you think Pita is for turning, you haven’t been paying much attention to the man’s words and deeds.

Your posting history is there for all to see - no need to make anything up.

He made it up because it isn't true.  I think I know my thoughts and opinions more than some random internet person.

How on Earth is "Haha, your junta's gone, you're a junta fanboy" not an attack on the person?  You're going to claim that that is some sort of well reasoned argument?

He claimed that, but it isn't true.

It isn't, that's the whole point.  Saying "you're only saying that because you like the junta" would absolutely be an ad-hom and not relevant to the details of the post.

Attack what is being said, not the person saying it, otherwise it's meaningless.

As I said, we will have to wait and see.

Feel free to point to anything that backs up what you are saying in any way. ????

Sincere in their delusions they may be, they have however lost, so they must now bow down before the masses and watch their idols falls - this is the way.

They are not giving it any consideration.

They are awaiting orders.

The MFP democratic coalition must not be sacrifice the ideals of the majority for the imprisonment of the minority. If the government (whose-caretaker?) collapses, Thailand becomes only half of a State. Surely not an international position to be in for the minority. The highest voice of the land needs to be heard.

Pretty sure the senate believes its job is to protect the country - not the people - from ruin. They see the country as a series of institutions that go back centuries. Democracy is not one of those institutions.

'Protect the country'.

Maybe, I suggest 'protect the military / the glory of the military' would be more accurate.

And this is why MF needs to stop making statements now about all they are going to do until the final vote is done. Don’t get cocky too quickly, we see how that has turned out.

I don't see why he needs to broadcast his intentions, he's already won his seats, the elections over, he can't win anymore seats, so there's no need to carry on broadcasting his intentions to garner appeal from the public or anybody else. There must be more important things for him to be doing

Its especially unwise of him to be so vocal about things that may be seen as somewhat controversial by  certain more conservative people  (of influence)

Anybody stating its a done deal that the next PM is going to be Pita is spouting rubbish

Anybody expecting things to improve dramatically for either themselves or Thailand in general within our life times is very likely going to die disappointed

There's an awful lot at stake(the establishment its self) and there's some very important people, who will do whatever it takes to keep things exactly how they are! Nobody will be giving up their place at the trough without a struggle

If push comes to shove the tanks could, eventually, be out again there may be some resistance, but once a few have been shot enthusiasm will wane And don't think for a moment they will care two hoots what the "international community"  thinks of whatever they end up doing. Bit like a spoilt kid having a tantrum

These senators need to be declared enemies of the state.

They are essentially committing treason, at this point. A list of their names and photos needs to be circulated. The people need to call them and their children, siblings, and parents out at work, at school, at restaurants, and in public. Shame them into submission. Embarrass them to no end. Make them conscious of the incredible amount of damage and erosion to democracy they are causing, and let Cha Cha know we are not buying his "I will be cooperative, and honor the results" nonsense.

If these illigitimate clowns don't act like adults and cooperate, all bets are off. Their health, safety and welfare could be in jeopardy. The people will not tolerate it.

Make their lives so uncomfortable they quit a year early. It just might work.

Yet, too many tend to ignore [or not historically knowledgeable] the basic crux of how things really operate here.

Actually, one could even suggest that this last general parliamentary election shouldn't have taken place to begin with, as the sitting government [most of which were candidates directly/indirectly] is false and illegally placed itself.

Too late now to correct or cleanse.

The paradox - awaiting a vote and institutional decisions by standing and illegitimate/controlling officialdom that was never democratically placed originally.

Trusting that most everything might prevail for the incoming coalition government........and then we can set our minds on bringing harsh justice on the varied association that plagued the country for a time. Because........if action isn't taken, they'll be back as history will tell you.
