Resistance, ridicule, refusal to serve a customer, scorn and public humiliation are forms of Ghandian behavior, that does not inflict physical harm on others, but gets a very important point across. You defied the will of the public, and you, your wife, your parents, your siblings and your kids are now personas non gratas. See how that feels.

"The people need to call them and their children, siblings, and parents out at work, at school, at restaurants, and in public. Shame them into submission."

The Children at school????

And than the others do the same to politician of MF (which was voted by only 28% of all Thais voters)....The best was to civil war....

18 coups should answer that! The past 9 yrs of military rule is pretty self explanitory!

Ah yes, history always repeats, nothing ever changes and things will be as they always were.

Lorena Bobbit was raped and abused by her husband countless times during their marriage until one day, she cut off his penis.

Pretty self explanatory eh?

The people’s power in Thailand is now completely overwhelming. The military has no choice but to sit down, shut up and do as they’re told.

Don't be silly. There have been what 19 coups since 1932. The military can use force like they did in 2010, when the people were disenfranchised. The poor win every election in a landslide, but never get the power....when they do, like with Thaksin and Yingluck, there is a coup.

The current caretaker government is already history...they are as good as gone.

You are more than welcome to put your money on that.

Thy are a coup government with an UNELECTED PM in charge and 250 UNELECTED senators who ow Prayuth for their positions.

The current caretaker government also controls the EC, the CC and the judiciary and I will not write them off yet.

If you back anything into a corner it can turn nasty and fight back, and IMHO this lot will.

After all what have they got to lose that they haven't lost already?

I know he has been criticized by some for being too visible since the election and saying too much on too many topics.   I've seen him doing everything from appearing at a gay pride event to playing guitar and singing on one of the news shows.   He's done an exhaustive number of interviews, in both Thai and some in English.

I think his strategy is to present himself as the de facto prime minister to be, while also introducing himself to the public, some of which might not know too much about him.  If he can somewhat control the narrative, set coalition meetings and other activities as the main leader, and make appearance after appearance as the star attraction and fait accompli next PM, it might make it a little harder for senators to vote against him--and, hopefully, harder for him to be booted out over a non-issue of worthless media stock.  Hope it works.

Be the change you wish to see in the world.

Live one's protest.

And with this cycle of coups and democracy Thailand did well in compare to all his neighbors

Yes, some democracy is better than no democracy. A very salient point. Thailand could already be as developed as South Korea had the military not repeatedly carried it backwards at gunpoint.

The education system is also well below par, but hey, let's not rock the boat!

You forgot the 2019 elections where the party got the majority of the popular vote.....so the PM was complete rightful elected and had also a majority in the lower house without senators.
I doubt that he has any control about them...but he knows them and is respected so he has for sure influence.

I would bet that he is gone....Even if they would stick to power they would put in a new face. Prayuth is past...I would bet a bottle of Russian Standard Vodka on it.

But being illegitimate candidates, by way of an illegal coup, in 2019....there victorious election would be nil and void by any reasonable measure, yes?

I speak about the laws not about reasonable measures that are different for everyone.

But by reasonable measures: Prayuth made the 2019 elections happen. Without his active doing there wouldn't be any 2019 elections, he could have continue to rule without elections without much resistance for another 20 years.

And not forget the coup was against an illegal government as well. A caretaker government that was expired and that refused to do what the old constitution required them to do.

And even if you think that 2019 was wrong, by no means it justifies doing wrong in 2023 again.

I really don't know why Pita did so obviously brake a very clear law that does not allow interpretation? Is it incompetence of him and his group of lawyers? Or on purpose?

Yes. If they insist on defying the will of the people, the entire family has to pay a price. Including the children. Especially the children. It would be a chilling reminder to the goons, of the price they are paying for the treasonous acts they are committing. Nobody is exempt from the consequences of extreme moral terpitude. Why should the children of gangsters be treated so special?
