How to tell if my remote gate opener is 330 Mhz or 433Mhz

Featured Replies

I need to buy some replacement remotes for my gate.

The replacements are offered in 330 & 433 Mhz.

How do I tell from the existing remote whether it's 330 or 433 Mhz? I've already disassembled the unit and there is no indication.

The images is of my remote, if it helps.

Asked before, but the answer was much easier then.

In this case the frequency could be read from the crystal, however the crystal in yours (labelled X1) doesn't appear to support that.  Maybe the frequency detector mentioned would help, or buy one of each from a seller who will accept returns and return the "wrong" one.

Take your remote control to the shop where they sell receivers and see which receiver it will activate.

Possibly neither...crystal appears to have numbers starting 26***** so may well be an old 27meg unit.

Be aware also that many of these remote Tx are encoded, meaning, whay may appear identical in every way, simply will not work on your system.

Best find who supplied the gate and check with them ( as suggested above).
