Popular Post webfact
A Thai lawyer and a Kazakhstan thief accused Thai Immigration Bureau officers of demanding 500,000 baht in exchange for the temporary release of the suspect. According to a Channel 7 report, a Kazakhstan man was arrested by Thai police officers from Mueang Pattaya Police Station, and Koh Samui Police Station, after he and his friends stole from a victim on Koh Samui, an island in the southern province of Surat Thani. The Thai lawyer, Krit Neatidham, who took care of the case reported to Channel 7 that the Kazakhstan man was later apprehended by Immigration Bureau officers and imprisoned for over two weeks at the immigration office in Bangkok. Krit stated that he and the suspect’s Thai wife attempted to gain temporary release for him to proceed with further litigation in court. However, the immigration police request a special payment for the bail and contacted the lawyer via phone call to negotiate the amount of the payment. by Petch Petpailin Photo via Channel 7 #news Full story: https://thethaiger.com/news/national/thai-police-accused-of-demanding-500000-baht-from-kazakhstan-suspect -- © Copyright Thaiger 2023-06-29 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. That's fine. I'm sure, we will read tomorrow (and a couple more times after) how Immigration officers saved Thailand from doom by arresting many foreign overstayers... 2 4

And may I ask you straightly? Could you pay the same amount to my team?” From the original source it sounds like 500K bail money for the court + 500K pocket money for the team. 5

Popular Post Muhendis
So first he was arrested by Pattaya police then he was apprehended by immigration police. I'm guessing he was released on bail by Pattaya police and, whilst free to prepare his case, was picked up by immigration police. What was he detained for by immigration police. 1

Popular Post spidermike007
The RTP are always guilty, until proven innocent. They are a law unto themselves. They are above the law and any stage play by Big Joke or others, is just a stunt. The police force that exists in Thailand today (written 2010) is for all intents and purposes the same one that was built by Pol. Gen. Phao Sriyanond in the 1950s. . . . It took on paramilitary functions through new special units, including the border police. It ran the drug trade, carried out abductions and killings with impunity, and was used as a political base for Phao and his associates. Successive attempts to reform the police, particularly from the 1970s onwards, have all met with failure despite almost universal acknowledgment that something must be done. Are they out finding government officials who are engaged in drug trafficking or sex slavery? No. Why? Because those goons are protected. Are they patrolling the highways to find reckless drivers? No. Why? Because they do not care one iota about traffic safety. It is all lip service. The RTP are a blight on the nation. 8 1 4

Could you pay the same amount to my team? It is the Thai Criminal Procedure followed by the ruling court that stipulates the criteria for bond application. Not RTP. The granting of bail depends on the court's discretion and analysis, not RTP.

hydraides
What the problem exactly, In this U.S.A if you caught drink driving your green card/visa will be revoked.....will likely go to prison for a few months, never can return to U.S.A etc In thailand, if you're caught, you pay 20k baht on the spot fine, and you get off with no record of the event -- Yes it's illegal what thai police do but its much better than the alternative - being locked up in a thai jail for a few months and blacklisted from the country Edited June 29, 2023 by hydraides

Sad as it is, given the choice between believing either a random "Kazakhstan thief" or a random member of the Thai police farce, I'd choose to believe the former - every single time.
