Drunk Crashes Into Motorcycle, Killing Two 14-Year-Old Girls in Tragic Wrong-Way Collision
Why the victim blaming? Maybe the parents did not know? The fault here is 100% the drunk driver. Two 14 year old girls, under the legal age to ride a motorcycle. I won't let my son on the back of my motorcycle, let alone ride one himself - and that unwavering rule will exist for as long as I can impact his decisions. As you point out the drunk driver is 100% at fault legally, but there are also 'buts'... To explain the parental responsibility angle I would us the following analogy: It is ok to allow my 10 year old to use a pedestrian crossing on his own ??... ... the difference is, I'd not be allowing him to do anything illegal, these girls were riding under the legal age to ride a motorcycle. Thus, as pointed out, I'd consider that the parents are also complicit ? - thats not victim blaming, thats simply highlighting how poor parenting also contributed to the incident. -

ICE vs EV, the debate thread
For the future BEV buyers out there, that believe the Toyota BS, of SSB (solid state batteries) coming to market soon ... well ... maybe not so soon. Depending on your age, finance, and desire to drive a better performing car than an ICEV, you may just want to get one of the current BEVs available. I'm not alone, in my anti Toyota thinking, as they have been BS for decades; H2 cars, SSB, being late to the game and simply can't compete. Hence their stock is crashing ...- 1

Breast cancer with raised underarm lymph nodes.
Thai Mrs booked a promotional breast cancer screening at a well known private hospital. Imaging ‘strongly suggested cancer’. Doctor confirmed cancer which has spread to underarm lymph nodes. Five biopsies taken now awaiting results. When my mother had cancer 11 years ago the doctor told me 'when lymph nodes are up even palliative chemotherapy is useless'. My question; Why has the hospital taken biopsies if it’s hopeless? -

Any US Social security recipients out there doing direct deposits?
No...32.158 is correct. Even when using the very generous Wise exchange rate on 3 Oct at 7:0am the rate was only 32.88....and then you got the Wise fees which effectively reduce that rate. I'm going to guess you made a math error like maybe not really knowing the "net" dollar amount of your SSA pension. If you have a SSA Online acct it will show you your gross amount, all deductions, and net amount. Remember, the "net" amount is the amount after all taxes, Medicare, other deductions, etc.,.......net amount is the amount of your pension that is transmitted to your bank account. Below snapshot from Wise website.. -

Man Crashes Car into Power Poles in Ladprao, 11 Poles Down, Drugs and Gun Found in Vehicle
A man speeding in his car crashed into multiple power poles in Ladprao Soi 48 early on the morning, of October 6, bringing down a total of 11 poles. Authorities discovered a firearm and drugs inside the vehicle. The Metropolitan Electricity Authority estimates it will take two days to restore power. At 06:20.Lieutenant Satien Phimthong, an investigative officer from Sutthisan Police Station, received a report of a car crash involving downed power poles and a driver trapped inside the vehicle in Soi Ladprao 48, Intersection 16, Huai Khwang District, Bangkok. Police Colonel Porntep Chalermkiat, Superintendent of Sutthisan Police Station, along with officials from the Metropolitan Electricity Authority and volunteers from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation, responded to the scene. Upon arrival, authorities found a white Honda City ZX with a Bangkok license plate that had lost control and crashed into two power poles. The front of the car, including the bumper, hood, and roof, was severely damaged, with the poles collapsing onto the vehicle. Rescue volunteers managed to extract the driver, identified as 28-year-old Mr. Asan Naya from Yala Province. He sustained minor injuries and appeared intoxicated. A search of the vehicle’s console revealed a 9mm handgun and a quantity of illegal drugs. Officers from the forensic department were called to the scene to collect evidence. Mr. Asan was taken into custody and brought to Sutthisan Police Station for further questioning and to face charges. The crash not only damaged the two poles directly hit by the vehicle, but the tension from the fallen wires also caused nine more poles in the area to topple, leaving a total of 11 poles down. The resulting damage caused a power outage in the area, and access in and out of the soi was completely blocked. Initial investigations revealed that Mr. Asan had been driving alone at high speed, entering the soi from Ladprao Road and heading towards Sutthisan Road before losing control and crashing into the power poles.
