Slow pace of Biden’s reelection campaign feeds Democrats’ 2024 anxiety

The conversations keep happening – quiet whispers on the sidelines of events, texts, emails, furtive phone calls – as top Democrats and donors reach out to those seen as possible replacement presidential candidates.

Get ready, they urge, in conversations that aides to several of the people involved have described to CNN: Despite what he has said, despite the campaign that has been announced, President Joe Biden won’t actually be running for reelection.

They feel like time is already running out and that the lack of the more robust campaign activity they want to see is a sign that his heart isn’t really in it.

It’s a persistent sense that the inner circle of advisers to the president and several of the very few aides who have been hired for his reelection campaign dismiss as absurd. Of course, he is running, they say. Of course, they’re taking preparations very seriously. And, with the always present Biden chip on their shoulder, of course they’re being written off again by the purported wise elders of the party and pundits who still refuse to take him seriously.

“They are so underestimated, and they keep getting it right,” said Jim Messina, former president Barack Obama’s 2012 reelection campaign manager, who has been one of the people privately advising Biden’s team to ramp up gradually.

No surprise. Everything surrounding Joe is slow. His cadence, his stumbling gait, his thought process, his re-election campaign.

Trump or Biden. What a choice. Sad times for US Politics.

Except of course delivering for America.

My punt is Joe Biden is waiting to see who the GOP candidate will be.

Well that and it must be a slow news day, though buckle up, it’s soon to accelerate.

“What motivates people is less the love of their party, but hatred of the other candidate,” said Lis Smith, a longtime Democratic strategist who worked on the Obama-Biden reelection campaign in 2012. “A lot of enthusiasm will come for voting against Republicans.”

You see ,It really doesn’t matter who the right puts in there ! “ Hatred” lives !

This article speaks much about democrat dissension . Donors are scarce and the party is in panic talking about wanting someone else.

The bidens dont have the basement ,

covid , and censored twitter platform to use this time in the 2024 campaign , that was very important the last time.imop

Of course we never hear the right wing refer to dems as "totalitarian fascist communists" and the like.

Who said they were communists?

Inflation down significantly.

Gas prices down

US Retail Gas Price is at a current level of 3.663, up from 3.643 last week and down from 4.879 one year ago.

Unemployment at 50 year low

Total nonfarm payroll employment increased by 209,000 in June, and the unemployment rate changed little at 3.6 percent, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. Employment continued to trend up in government, health care, social assistance, and construction.

Gettin' stuff done.

Can't see what the hurry is on the re-election campaign? I mean most of us complain about the lengthening election cycle.

CNN is just lamenting the lack of content so they gin up stories like these.

Infections from the Woke Mind Virus seem to be trending down. And even Biden Derangement Syndrome is affecting fewer people.

This is not triviality. This is not a Fox article that you can ignore. When CNN starts these articles, it means biden is losing his safety blanket.

You can't be serious.

The wall to wall anti-Trump coverage on CNN from 2016-2021 was blatant and ridiculous.

Trumps a danger and has damaged this nation grievously as he continues to do there is a reason for the anti trump stuff with luck he will spend the rest of his days in the penitentiary and as far as on topic president Biden has raised 72 million on the first quarter for campaign funds

So, you don't believe CNN leans to the left? When they write disparaging articles about biden, it means that the blankie has been taken off. They can't continue pretending all is good with biden.

Trump was a very good president until Covid hit. Then he lost the plot, lost the election, and now is well past his due date.  He won't be spending any time in prison, so please put that fantasy to bed. No need to hyperventilate about him, just ignore him and he will fade away.

The real reason for the anti-Trump stuff is that he won the election in 2016. He toppled everyone in the media and Left World's anointed candidate, the so-called 'most qualified person to ever run for President'. The dire predictions of what would happen if Trump won never came true.  But they still never forgave him for the sin of winning and making them all look stupid.

Thanks once again for your amazing mind reading techniques. Also, for your amazing crystal ball. Or do you use a time machine to find out what's going to happen in the future. It's a good thing you actually cab read minds and can actually see the future. Otherwise, it would be clear that you've got nothing.

Compared to 1.23% when he took office, so only up over 100%

U.S. regular retail gasoline prices averaged $2.17 per gallon when he took office, so only up 69%

Indeed, and long as the press, big tech, big pharma and the justice department keep running interference for him he's a shoe-in.

I would not vote for him, but I would bet on him.

Well, for one thing when he was President he urged the Justice Dept to go after his enemies.  And to some extent it did go along with him. For another he pardoned several people directly connected to him or his campaign. He also discussed using the IRS against his enemies. If he gets reelected, why wouldn't he make it a point to choose more pliant officials?

The only thing left to ponder is who the dems will have for a stand in and if so will there be a run off for dem candidate.

DNC already said there will be no primary debates, so I think they're all in on Joe.

CNN recently got called out for doing a complete 180 regarding the twice impeached twice (with more to come) indicted international embarrassment.
