tomacht8 Posted July 16, 2023 Posted July 16, 2023 It is best to contact foreign banks that have branches here in Thailand and also in the destination country. For example: ABN AMRO. BNP Paribas. Calyon Corporate & Investment Bank. Citibank Thailand. Deutsche Bank. Indian Overseas Bank. JPMorgan Chase & Co. Mizuho Corporate Bank It may also be worth opening a foreign currency account in Thailand beforehand, i.e. exchanging the Thai baht in Thailand for US/Euro, etc. and then transferring the foreign currency. The exchange rates for Thai Baht are much worse in the destination countries. 1
freedomnow Posted July 16, 2023 Posted July 16, 2023 It's wise coming in, and deemoney out for legitimately sourced money that can be traced to its origin. Wise only good up to a certain limit then after that there were other similar online transfer options.

Crazy Noobie Posted July 17, 2023 Posted July 17, 2023 You ask best way to transfer a large sum of money? I went to my local Bangkok Bank to find out the procedures. For large sums I decided it was too much red tape. I was talking with a friend and he said since I have a Crypto account with Coinbase in the USA. Just take my money here and buy bitcoin through a Thailand Exchange. The second I buy it, I then can cash it out through my USA exchange. Last month I tried it and it worked perfect. It was so simple.
rwill Posted July 17, 2023 Posted July 17, 2023 Open a Schwab one international account, you have to deposit $25,000 or the equivilant in stock to open one. That's what I use. I have sent $200,000 at a time using it. There is a $15 fee but they instantly rebate mine back. So the wire is free. I have never had to explain where the money came from. My bank here, SCB, calls me on transfers over $20,000. They only want to know if it is for personal use or to purchase property.

It was so simple. I take it your money is in a Thai bank account? Otherwise, how are you going to buy Kryptonite on Bitkub, for instance? In fact, you could just dump it in your wallet so long as you've done your KYC. But depositing millions of $ into your US account? No questions asked? I could be missing something here...

btsfreak1 Posted July 17, 2023 Posted July 17, 2023 If you dont mind the hassle but want to get around the issue of stating where the money comes from, use your bank app and transfer 50K USD each time.
Popular Post HandsomeTallFarang Posted July 17, 2023 Popular Post Posted July 17, 2023 This has to be an obvious troll post. "Bob Smith" posts a lot of BS on this forum. Just BS story / scenario one after another. This is just another. Every forum has a type like this, serial liars. Bob, you don't have 20 million, you don't even have half a million baht. I suggest another hobby other than making up things on the internet to try and impress, mostly other men on a forum. That is after you get your alocholism under control. 1 2

Repeat: I transferred both £ and $ to accounts in a bank in Europe. From Thailand. From my Wise accounts. Free. Now, what's confusing about that? (Wait for the next icon).
ianguygil Posted July 19, 2023 Posted July 19, 2023 Regardless of which Bank you choose, and i would obviously recommend you use Bangkok Bank, you should ask for a special rate for such a large transfer. Anything over about $100K USD should be eligible for a better rate which will make a real difference. While it may be a few points, multiple by hundreds of thousands it will all add up So please go to the Bank. Explain the source of funds (both legally required and what we should all expect and want) and ask for a preferred rate from their Treasury 1 1
mrwebb8825 Posted August 16, 2023 Posted August 16, 2023 pack it in suitcases and abscond across the Cambodian border in the middle of the night - mention you're friends with Ying Luk to get the special rate.
