Popular Post webfact Posted July 16, 2023 Popular Post Posted July 16, 2023 In a bid to uphold the sanctity of national parks, Thai authorities at Khao Yai National Park are preparing to prosecute a golfer who dared to engage in sporting activity such as illegal golfing within the protected vicinity of Sai Sorn Reservoir. This reservoir, nestled within the heart of the national park, is not only home to a diverse array of wildlife but also a popular spot for visitors. The news surfaced yesterday when evidence of the golfer’s transgression was discovered by a high-ranking park official, Kittichai Roongpaiboonwong. Following a tip-off about illegal golfing activity within the park boundaries, Kittichai and his team embarked on an inspection. The telltale signs they discovered included a pair of golf balls, traces of a golf tee, and noticeable damage to the grass in the area, clearly pointing towards golfing practice. Further concrete evidence came in the form of a social media post by the unidentified golfer, who had posted on Facebook on July 14 stating that he was at the Sai Sorn Reservoir at 2pm, reported Bangkok Post. by Mitch Connor Photo courtesy of Varawut Silpa-archa, Facebook Full story: https://thethaiger.com/news/national/thai-golfer-faces-prosecution-for-illegal-play-in-khao-yai-national-park -- © Copyright Thaiger 2023-07-17 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. ChrisY1 Posted July 17, 2023 Posted July 17, 2023 It's illegal to swing a golf club at balls in the national park? Such nonsense! 2
ignore it Posted July 17, 2023 Posted July 17, 2023 The only grass he disturbed must have been in the bag in his pocket. Looks pretty patchy by the lakeside. 1 1

It's National Park, not a playground, nor a golf course. Shall we allow other sports like motocross, ATV riding, cricket and rugby? The small, hard balls golfers use sure hurt when they hit! What arrogance. And 10x the price for a farang to get some practice swings in! 1 1 1
ignore it Posted July 17, 2023 Posted July 17, 2023 And. Who looses their balls after a few strokes? Usually have to be married for a while.

Such nonsense! 1 golfer = x number of balls polluting the park. Imagine if it was legal. So it's not nonsense. However, look at all the other trash at the national parks (especially the shipping areas) - I hope this official also prosecutes those people that contribute to the litter.

billd766 Posted July 17, 2023 Posted July 17, 2023 Yet the navy want to build an anti aircraft unit at a different national park. They will do far more damage in 1 hour than this guy will do in a year.
sammieuk1 Posted July 17, 2023 Posted July 17, 2023 Concrete evidence usually comes in the form of a barrel fished out the river here but in this case he wacked a little ball with a stick jail him for 900 years ????
PETERTHEEATER Posted July 17, 2023 Posted July 17, 2023 Fifty years ago I scored a hole in one with my girlfriend in Khao Yai NP. Luckily there were no concerned citizens around to be offended.
Clayt Posted July 17, 2023 Posted July 17, 2023 I've been to Khao Yai many times over the years. First time in 1970. There was a golf course there at the time. Maybe he forgot it returned to nature.

Gsxrnz Posted July 17, 2023 Posted July 17, 2023 Looking at his stance, if prosecuted he could credibly claim that he wasn't playing golf.
