Popular Post Social Media
The White House on Friday slammed congressional Republicans for “hijacking” the annual defense policy bill and loading it up with conservative amendments related to abortion, transgender rights and other issues, arguing it will undermine national security. “Holding America’s military readiness – as well as service members and their families – hostage to an extreme, divisive political agenda undermines our national security and disrespects the sacrifices that those who wear the uniform,” deputy White House press secretary Andrew Bates said in a statement. “That’s what House Republicans, Senator Tuberville, and Senate Republicans who refuse to challenge him are doing by hijacking a bipartisan bill and devolving it into a hardcore rightwing wishlist,” Bates continued. “President Biden stands with the overwhelming majority of the American people who believe our military capabilities should never be endangered, especially not in furtherance of radical agendas meant to tear Americans apart for political gain. “Harm to every service branch is mounting daily. It’s imperative for congressional Republicans to put country over party,” he added. FULL STORY

KhunLA
That's what the defense bill is, appropriation to buy new toys and or upgrade what's in inventory already for the USA military. Is this the same administration that is giving billions away to UA, but now nit picking the budget for the USA's defense budget ? A bit hypocritical one would think. 2

What are you saying here? Just reading the headline, "White House says Republicans have turned defense bill into ‘rightwing wishlist’" is so misleading. The Democrats tell the media what to print and they can't do it fast enough. I don't even have to read the article to know what is in it. I know the Left. Look at the last Bills passed by Biden. They get a fancy name like the "Infrastructure Bill" with little money going to infrastructure. Most of the money went to pay off debts of Democrat controlled Cities and states. The American people had no say in their money being used this way. They paid off the Teacher's and other unions so dues can be collected and recycled back to Democrat coffers. Republicans want o shore up our Military when China, Russia, and now Iran are on the move against our interests. Why are you so supportive of the Marxist/Socialist Democrats? We have already seen a few times that appeasement does not work. Our Military is being destroyed by Milley and Austin through CRT and Woke policies. Both should have been fired after the Afghan fiasco. I would not have been stupid enough to close Bagram AFB before getting out our equipment and those who supported us during the war. By the way, the way the Taliban take over of Afghanistan was an 'Insurrection', not what happened on J6. 1 1 1

Thanks for not addressing the fact that Republicans are the ones creating ridiculous roadblocks to getting a military bill passed. And what about 'Tommy Tuberville, the Republican Senator from Alabama? He's holding up hundreds of military promotions as part of the military anti-abortion campaign. 5

These right wingers go on about law&order, love of country, a strong defense force (FORCE!), the noble Founding Fathers etc. And without a second thought they pull stunts like this that undermine US military operations and security. If a Dem were to do stuff like this, taking sides with a foreign adversary over US defense issues, you can be damned sure guys like himself will be grandstanding and calling for inquests and shouting "Bengazi!" Special shout-out to Tucker, who supports Russia and it's allies because he is anti-Biden, and the GOP PACs holding their meetings in Hungary; what happened to "love it or leave it?"
