16 of the senators were sick, wow that's 6.4% of the total senate.

I hope they all received sickness benefit.

And bring a Dr certificate when they come next time, act like children, be treated like children.

Of course they weren't going to say anything, given their rank, status and privilege.   But only when called out by the public do they choose to respond.   If Senators cannot fulfi

There is a mighty funny smell in the room. Smells like rotten fish. Smells like a giant lie, from a man lacking any sort of integrity, nor any barometer of truth.

  • Furthermore. If Senators or MPs are not present at the vote, the simple majority should be based only on the total number of people present. Example of 750 eligible voters only 600 are present. Then t

It could not be more Thai than this. If they have to take a position or decide on something else but food or fun, then they love to be ........ absent.

Unless in an ICU on life support, all those absentees should be fired immediately without any possibility of ever taking a political position ever again.

How can you be absent during such an important meeting, really!

Perhaps when you are appointed to a well paid job you do as you are told to do.

That does not mean that what you are told to do. is the rightful thing to do.

IIRC the senators are paid 100,000 monthly (and probably expenses and perks are freebie extras),

6,000,000 thb (++) is a nice little earner over 5 years, simply for doing as you are told. No thinking involved.

Their absence is indefensible. If they had any honor whatsoever, they would all step down, as they can't even perform the duty they were undeservingly given.

It shows exactly where their priorities are. And that is definitely not the future of the country.

All abstaining, not voting or not showing.

Even bigger than I thought.

I admit to being lazy and not doing my research.  :sorry:

IF they spent 5 days a week or 20 days a month at the senate the would reap 2,562,720 thb per year before tax and over a 5 year period they would turn over 12,813,600 thb before tax plus of course the

So the 250 senators would cost the Thai people 3.203,400,000 thb over 5 years IF they all bothered to turn up for work.

That does not of course take into account the normal salaries that they get as well.

Money for old rope and the saddest thing is that the Thai people are forced to tay them without being represented by them.

Are they good value for money?

Personally, I wouldn't give 25 satang for the whole lot of them.

It makes no sense!

Hand picked by the junta and non-elected millionaires picking who runs the country.

Dumbfounding.

Those are the people who need investigating by the constitutional court.  Sadly, the judges of the court were handpicked by the junta as well.

Compare that to what old retired farmers get from the government they fed their whole life

When they turn 60 they get 600 baht a month!

70 is 700 bht

80 is 800 baht

90 is 900 baht

If you should make 100 you will get a 1000 baht wow per month ????

I have a feeling their decision was premeditated... smells as if China is working on the background with EC and senators, thus democracy will never be implemented here or implemented if if follows the Chinese way

That’s what they told the senate, told the wife they went to work, stayed with Mia Noi.

Plus five (5) "staff" AKA the "friends and family" plan. I thought that they get 60,000 per month each.
